Next time stick around, but start hurling rotten fruit and eggs when the players come back out and howl "I CARE TOO MUCH" and tear your shirt off Hulkamania-style as Roast hauls you away.

As Roast flying-karate-kicks him to Cicero.

What am I supposed to do the next few months? I want to get next year started right now.

Watch the World Series. It's baseball. It's still the greatest sport.

[expletive] that noise.

It could be worse: it could be the White Sox vs. the Cardinals.

Like a mere decade ago.

Not sure what's up with you, but the White Sox played the Astros and the Cardinals played the Tigers the following season.

Damn drugs.

It's still real to him.

another weakness exposed: hitting line drives right to fielders.

Be really hot when you play us and put your fielders where all the line drives are going to go. The book is out, we're toast.

Never said they didn't try. Said they sucked in the most important games of their lives to this point. And said that pissed me off because I care too much and envied those who don't feel like me.

You said they didn't show up. That implies that they didn't try.

If other people use that to imply they didn't try, ok. But that's not what I meant.

Even in my most irrational heat of the moment I still laughed at the Cardinals fans who were talking about 1908. One of the things this team gave me this year is that I really do not care at all what Cardinals fans think about anything anymore. And I know this season really hurt them.

I also want to point out that I never booed them. Would never do that.

It really hit me tonight as I sat down and watched all the great highlights from the season... What a season it was. More great moments in a single summer that I can ever recall in my time following the Cubs. The worst part of the initial sadness is thinking about the lon grind it's going to take next year to get back to the NLCS and to this point. But I suppose by the time spring training rolls around we'll just be hungry for Cubs baseball period. The window is just opening.

Why would the season be a long grind instead of just another enjoyable season? My dad was at the game and I called him today and all he kept going on about was the "long haul of the regular season," like only this season could be fun and the rest will just be a slog until they win it all.

I actually can't believe how fast this season went. Like, it doesn't seem like Bryant, Russell and Schwarber all came up this year because they felt like such part of the team. It's hard to believe that a little over 6 months ago Bryant made his debut after all the crap about keeping him down for a week. The season flew by to me because it was so fun and I was so excited to tune in every game.

It's still real to him.

Roast being capable of hauling him away is easily the most embarrassing part of that story.

you're depressing

I feel sorry for his wife.

My short term negativity to a series performance like this is pretty much my only major character flaw. And at least I recognize that I'm ridiculous. She did alright.

Posted
Also, I tried everything to get myself up for the game. Don't know how you can control your feelings towards something. If anybody knows how to do that let me know. I didn't make the choice to be miserable.

To be fair, there is a Chicago precedent for this type of condition:

Probably because right now all we want is to get back into that position.

By the time February rolls around, I'll be crazy excited to see the first pictures of Heyward and Price on Boys of Spring.
