5 days ago we were feeling good about going to the World Series. It seemed like a realistic thing that could really happen and now the concept feels so damn far away from reality, placed back into my imagination. 5 damn days

 

I feel you man.. went from a really high high to a really low low in such a fast amount of time. Wanted to enjoy the NLDS win and all but then haven't had much of anything to get excited about ever since then. :(

Yeah. A whole lot went right for us this year and these opportunities don't come around much. Our odds are as good as anyone's but it's significantly less than 50/50 that we'll be back here in a year.

 

 

Exactly. That's the crummy part.. we were so close now being a final four team and all.. and there's no guarantee that we will get that again next year. A lot can happen: injuries, etc.. We had a chance this year, and it's heart breaking that we couldn't get to the end (and even crummier that we got swept), but in the same time, we definitely did overachieve.. so it's like a weird mix of emotions for me at this moment.

Bad luck, the team didn't show up, the umpiring was [expletive], and we ran into a hot Mets team? Does that about sum it up?

 

I mean, they could have collapsed instead of us. We have way more karma on our side, but nah, you poor guys haven't won a pennant since 2000. The Mets deserve it more than us.You take it.

At this point, what does Maddon complaining about the umpiring do? It makes him sound like a surly old sour grapes manager. Does it change anything? No. I really hope he's above that after getting a butt whooping. We don't need excuses.
