What am I supposed to do the next few months? I want to get next year started right now.

Watch the World Series. It's baseball. It's still the greatest sport.

[expletive] that noise.

It could be worse: it could be the White Sox vs. the Cardinals.

There is no good way to end the season except for winning the WS, but this series was about as bad as it gets.

Their weaknesses were exposed in the worst way.

our weakness is that most if not all hitters are frustratingly streaky, and one bad weak in october makes people think you're a bad person; Daniel Murphy btw had a month+ stretch of .210/.259/.340

Not sure what's up with you, but the White Sox played the Astros and the Cardinals played the Tigers the following season.

I envy the people who are excited about the future of this team today. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't trade our potential for any other teams' potential. But I don't want to talk about that yet. Not even close.

I went to my first Cubs postseason game yesterday and literally did not enjoy a minute of it. Because the series was 3-0 and I completely expected Hammel to suck and Matz to dominate I couldn't even get excited about walking in. It was like I was fulfilling an obligation by going. By the middle of the first I couldn't wait for it to get over. The only sliver of excitement I felt was when Starlin made solid contact with the bases loaded. That lasted about 0.1 seconds. Glad some of you aren't hung up on this series from hell, but it's going to be a pretty long time before I am over it.

Even if the series was 2-1 I would have been pumped leading up to the game. If they could have actually gotten a lead in the game. Maybe if they even could have threatened to take the lead in the game. Nothing worth celebrating this week. Stayed to see the end of the game and Mets celebrate, but I purposefully left before the team came back out.

You weren't even excited about walking in?!

[expletive] Christ don't go if you're gonna be one of those fans. No one is forcing you and there are plenty of people who would have loved to go.

I wasn't the only one. Cop on horseback made a comment that nobody was excited about going to see a Cubs playoff game. Was actually surprised by how good the crowd was. I cannot take credit for being a part of it.

Also, I tried to sell them but my wife wanted to go and wouldn't let me.

You left out your concluding statement:

As a baseball fan I can handle other teams succeeding. I've seen one pennant clinching before (last year's ALCS) and thought for historic reasons it would be cool to see one in both leagues. That doesn't bother me. I'm pissed at these players for not showing up this series. I will be there full throat next season. And I was every game up until last night this season. But I am not over it yet. And I definitely wasn't last night.

Sounds like they did a better job of showing up than you did.

Never said they didn't try. Said they sucked in the most important games of their lives to this point. And said that pissed me off because I care too much and envied those who don't feel like me.

A lot of us care too much but aren't ridiculous in how we express it.
