Still seems crazy to me this team is essentially 2008-good. That team was absurd and dominant from start to finish. Being in third place is probably part of the reason it feels different, but even around the trade deadline there was some doubt how good we were. Hell, Theo's most recent radio interview made it sound like he wasn't really expecting to make the playoffs then. But damn what a fun season. Edited by Gilby

95 wins is a lot of freaking wins.

I'm just legit happy that after the past 3 seasons of arguing back and forth on whether [expletive] was done right or not, we all have had this season to enjoy.

I feel like that umps thought process probably went like this:

*Pitch hits mitt*

*in awe, ump excitedly points at ball in mitt with his right hand*

"THAT pitch..." (while still pointing at ball)

"Now THAT [expletive] pitch is a ... strike 3"(*simulataneously makes cocky strike 3 call wih left hand*)

I've thought Kershaw should win the Cy Young all year. But, now I want Jake to win it. And I don't think it's that crazy. There's something to be said about his actual performance. I know in the defensive-independent stats that Kershaw looks much better. And I know Kershaw is still some type of pitching god, and he's the best in the business. But, I'm not sure that Jake's really had all that much BABIP luck. His batted-ball velocity is extremely low; he gets more groundballs than Kershaw; he gives up less hard contact and more soft contact than Kershaw. He's outperformed his peripherals, but I think it is genuine. I think he is just able to induce a lot of bad and weak contact, and can limit hits better than just about anyone. It's still really close. But, I want him to win it, dammit.

I know CY voting has gravitated away from the meatball standards of the past, but in a year where any of the top 3 are seriously deserving, I think the guy with the no hitter and historically dominate stretch will get the scales tipped his way. If you made a pro/con list for all of them, I think Jake would come out on top.

That was "LOOK AT THIS [expletive]! THAT'S A [expletive] STRIKE!"
