Anyone know what kind of pitch count he will be on? Hopefully he stays in long enough to dong.

I'm assuming about the same as last time, so 80-90.

If we win and the Pirates lose tonight, the pressure is really on the Bucs to win both of the final 2 games to keep their home field advantage.

I think the Reds will take 1 but it's hard to see them taking 2 out of 3 considering the pitching match-ups.

I don't see the point in the Reds even trying to win one game. They're within reach of the #1 pick right now and there's no reason to screw that up.

why would the current baseball players care one iota about that?

They won't care much, but they don't really control who plays and who doesn't either. The Reds haven't had anyone of value start for them for 3 months now, and they'll likely give their better veterans some "rest days" and get their version of Lake/Szczur into the games to "see what they've got".

After all the complaining you did about the Cubs losing on purpose, you don't see the Reds doing the same?

An organization can decide to lose more than they win, but the players aren't going to throw an individual game. Or has Pete Rose has already been reinstated?

Is it wrong of me to want a "mini" implosion tonight by our pitching God, so that I will believe that it won't happen on Wednesday? Kinda look like a team on a long unbeaten streak needing a loss before entering the tourney.

Yeah it's wrong of you. I don't understand that logic at all and never have.

Good thing the Cubs are playing in an enclosed stadium tonight.

I dunno if I'd get my hopes up about Pirates-Reds. Phillies game just got postponed.

Good, we'll win tonight and the Pirates will start to feel the pressure waking up only 1.5 up.

Or something like that.

Okay so I just joined this board a couple of weeks ago but I had been actively reading threads on this forum since the beginning of this season so obviously I wasn't here last year. I have to say thanks to David for posting this link and to OMC for being so damn epic in that thread. I can't recall the last time I laughed so hard. As if the Arrieta stuff wasn't good enough...once I got to the Stephen/J.D. Drew comment I hit the floor. That made may Friday evening already.
