Okay so I just joined this board a couple of weeks ago but I had been actively reading threads on this forum since the beginning of this season so obviously I wasn't here last year. I have to say thanks to David for posting this link and to OMC for being so damn epic in that thread. I can't recall the last time I laughed so hard. As if the Arrieta stuff wasn't good enough...once I got to the Stephen/J.D. Drew comment I hit the floor. That made may Friday evening already.

 

a whole paragraph and you couldn't even give me a like??!!?

Who's going to be the first person to go back and covertly "heart" like 500 of their own previous posts from like 5 years ago?

 

And I'm waiting for the first post that goes heart-crazy (50+ hearts). I'm predicting it's either an IMB short story or a Tree MS Paint story for the playoffs.

Kyle being prophetic in that thread...

 

Recipe for 2015:

 

1) Arrieta never gets hurt like every other good Cubs pitcher in history (check)

2) Keep Samardzija (replaced with Lester)

3) Bryant is good at baseball (check)

4) Add one decent outfielder in the offseason. (check)

 

The resulting team is easily over .500 and in the hunt at worst all year. (check)

I was thinking about my favorite posts over the years. If I ever get ambitious enough I will find them and like them. Trees photoshop will be the first one I do

It's always struck me as a little odd when people talk about their WS fantasy they seem to typically describe the Cubs winning it in game 7, usually dramatically.

 

Personally, I want that huge win streak; just cruise to winning it all with a minimum of drama.

yeah.

 

a bunch of 10-0 wins would be just fine with me.

 

i could see how they would want to make it as heart wrenching as possible for cardinal fans by having it be close and go the distance, but i'll go with humiliating them into obscurity.
