Who cares if he yells at Carmen? That's a dumb reason to cut him.

If you want to close your eyes and cover your ears and pretend everything else Marshall was involved with this past year wasn't a total disaster then yes, yelling at a radio guy is a dumb reason to cut him.

But that's a dumb way to summarize the marshall situation.

Oh, please. It was nowhere near a "total disaster," both given his own issues in the past and the larger embarrassment of the Bears organization. You just tell him he doesn't get to go on the radio next year.

He's a sociopath.

The most embarrassing thing he did this year was that bizarre press conference and literally nobody remembers it except for self-hating Bears fans. If you can move him because you can actually help your team by doing so or you think his talent is going downhill quick, great, but if you're moving him just because of his "embarrassing" behavior this year then that's just plain ol' meatballin'.

Yeah well, they can be the greatest in the world at lots of things, but the wins didn't happen end of story.

Is BMarsh saying he doesn't get this?

Weird stuff coming out today. Heard Kyle Long talking this morning about how great Trestman is, too.

OK, so what? He didn't win.

Long hasn't head any other coach though...so it's understandable from him. He has no other point of reference.

Not sure I buy that. He did play under Kelly @ Oregon, a great program and Kelly hasn't done all that bad in Philly so far.

I think he's seen better coaching than Trestman. It's still a bizarre statement for me.

Zero problem with a player talking [expletive] to a radio sack of meat.

Yeah, I thought it was hilarious. Carmen said the Bears seemed to be "scared of him," and Marshall asked him to provide an example to back up his claim. Carmen couldn't.

Sounds like Carmen was just scared of him too.

How about the press conference they didn't want him to do (and told him to keep short when he insisted on doing it), where he then rambled on for like 45 minutes trying to blame his victims and present phony evidence defending his past?

Who cares?

What the hell is so bizarre about a player who is fond of his coach being publicly supportive the morning before everyone speculates he'll be fired? It's far from bizarre. It's almost expected.

So what? It was a given he was going to be handled with kid gloves when he showed up. Given how badly screwed up he was in years past, what he did this past year is nowhere near being something you need to cut ties with him over. There are legitimate reasons to potentially look to move him this offseason, but being scared of crazy isn't a very good one.

You are the boy who cried wolf of meatballin.

It's all about the next big boss and the next big boss probably isn't accepting an unstable sociopath whose abilities are on the decline. As I said before I am more and more of the belief that the new guys will be happy to take a 2015 dive and finish the house cleaning job that started today down to the older players.

I would expect it to be a perfect storm of those things plus the possibility Marshall may not react well to the new guy coming in and trying to restrict his media appearances.

The Bears allowing that and not punishing him over defying them is an example of them seeming to be scared of him and his volatility. I didn't say anything about that other stuff you said.

There is nothing at all bizarre about a player lamenting the firing of his coach, whether he means it or not is another story. But he specifically tweeted out thanks to both Trestman and Emery for bringing him to the NFL and only included a picture of Emery if that makes you happy.

I don't really love Marshall personally...but when healthy, he's still a very good WR.

The when healthy thing may play into the decision as well.

Christ, he's not the [expletive] Hulk; he's not going to flip out if they tell him to not go on the radio. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap both him and Cutler's radio spots if both are on the team next year. Just spin it like it's a fresh start and all that crap and he'd be fine. Hell, we're having this discussion today because a guy ON THE RADIO ticked him off. Probably not going to be too hard to explain to him why it would be a better move to stay off of it.

He had an unnecessary press conference full of crazy about his past domestic abuse. Said crazy things on "Inside the NFL". Has challenged a fan to a fight. Bad mouthed Cutler in public around the same time Kromer did. Appears to be heartbroken over an obviously terrible coach that he could not have possibly had this great connection with. It may not be a "total disaster", but it's getting closer and closer to that every time he opens his mouth.

Horse [expletive]. THAT'S the excuse you're going with over something like that this past season? Where basically nobody had any accountability for anything except for Bennett bodyslamming Fuller in the preaseason? That's pretty hilarious.

Depends on contract language really. If they don't have decent clout to try and restrict his appearances, he may say thanks no thanks. Not react well doesn't mean he starts flipping tables.

It's like sammy sofa pays as much attention to the Bears as he does Cubs players.

Marshall was the catalyst to the first meltdown team meeting nonsense being leaked to the public we lost the team situation of the year.

Except at least he admits he doesn't know anything about the Cubs.

In the scope of the NFL and his own past that's all a blip on the radar (plus I love how you're trying to spin him being sad to see his coach go as making him to be crazy).

The guy has major issues, but THIS is the stuff we're worried about? Yeesh.

All this media stuff is him setting up his next career, so there's next to no way you can cut him off from making appearances.

Excuse for them not punishing him. That's a hilariously stupid conclusion. They didn't punish anyone for anything this year.

No you goomba, we're worried about the entire package, which is an aging expensive and declining receiver who came in with a short fuse and is probably not going to be something the next big boss wants to deal with going forward.
