I don't envy KU (Wichita) or Gonzaga's (Davidson) draws. ND as a 3 is just fine with me.

Yeah, it's not a great draw. WSU is underseeded imo. Also, we sorta suck. Bad recipe. I think ND has the best chance in the region to take down UK.

About as good of a draw as Iowa could reasonably have hoped for, though I think I would've rather had Kansas than Gonzaga.

Davidson will be tough but it's a matchup extreme. Great offense that shoots a lot of 3's but really small and bad defense. Iowa is more balanced and a lot bigger but nowhere near the shooting.

Indiana and Texas - both of whom were on the bubble - in the same region.

I think Texas beats Butler and makes firing Barnes a little harder. God forbid they beat ND and he gets an extension.

UCLA should be in why?

They shouldn't be.

My initial reaction to being in Kentucky's bracket was slight annoyance, but I have to admit, IF they could get to that matchup (which would require more tournament victories than the last 12 years combined), it would be an outstanding opportunity.

Michigan not selected for NIT :(

One hell of a year for UM sports.

Gonna be an optimist and say 2 bad seasons sets up Michigan for the future. Obviously in football, Harbaugh. In basketball, several guys stepped up and this team looks like it could be an upper echelon Big Ten team next year. If anything, this basketball season reinforced my belief in Beilein as a coach. I would like him to do a little better recruiting (although before this last class and the current one he was doing fine), but that is marginalized when he seems to turn lightly regarded recruits into very good players annually. If most non-Kentucky teams lost their 3 best players to the draft, and then lost their 2 best returning players to injury for a majority of the season, they wouldn't even be talking about their NIT bubble bursting today.

Not that anyone cares, but here's my DePaul coaching wish list:

Tier Unrealistic: Archie Miller, Shaka Smart, Ben Jacobsen, Scott Drew

Tier 1: Bobby Hurley, Bryce Drew, Brian Wardle, Ben Howland, Jamie Dixon, Tom Crean, Chris Mooney (Richmond)

Tier 2: Steve Masiello, Michael White (La Tech), Steve Prohm (Murray State), Leon Rice (Boise St.), Tommy Amaker (Harvard)

Tier 3: Greg Gard (Wisconsin Asst.), Jeff Capel, Dan Muller (ISU), Chris Jans (Bowling Green)

Tier 4: Tavares Hardy, Jerrance Howard, LaVall Jordan (Michigan Asst), Tim Floyd, Larry Eustachy, Ray McCallum (Detroit), Porter Moser (Loyola), Keno Davis (Central Michigan)

Wild Card: Josh Pastner (Memphis), Kevin Stallings (Vanderbilt)

Tier Kill Myself: Craig Robinson, Ty Corbin, Mark Aguirre, Billy Garrett, Anthony Grant, Reggie Theus, Robert Smith, Lorenzo Romar, anyone over the age of 55 that hasn't been to a Final Four

I care!

Putting that unrealistic tier is just cruel. Brian Wardle is definitely my pick for best combination of realistic and affordable. He even seems like a guy that would stick around and build the program instead of darting to the Big Ten or elsewhere.

Wardle would be a great choice.

I would also put Rick Stansbury, although he fits as a coach over 55 that has never been to a FF (formerly of Miss St, now an assistant at A&M) as a candidate that would be a good fit.

I would, of course, be in Alabama for this game.

They only care about Bama football. Don't expect to know anything other than that
