Anyone else remember the ESPN article where he said he wanted to take his tractor and go home, retire at 30?

Twins claimed LHP Brooks Raley off waivers from the Cubs.

Raley made nine relief appearances with the Cubs last year, but he mostly pitched at the Triple-A level, posting a 4.46 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 141 1/3 innings. He'll function as organizational pitching depth.

Reds claimed RHP Brett Marshall off waivers from the Cubs.

Marshall was claimed off waivers from the Yankees back in December and now he's on the move again. The 23-year-old had a 5.13 ERA and 120/68 K/BB ratio over 138 2/3 innings in Triple-A last year and will serve as rotation depth with Cincinnati.

When did we waive these two guys? I would imagine one was to clear space for Hammel?

Derek Jeter announces on facebook that 2014 will be his last season.

Great another [expletive] season of nobody shutting the [expletive] up about a Yankees retirement. I'll be skipping the all star game this season

This one will be worse.

The other is to give James McDonald a 40 man spot. That intrigues me, as we must feel he's healthy.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Orioles have reached agreement with right-hander Suk-Min Yoon.

It's a three-year, $5.75 million deal, according to MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli. The contract is pending a physical -- which has been a sticking point for the O's this offseason -- but the expectation is that the Korean pitcher will pass. Yoon has experience as both a starter and reliever. He was the KBO's MVP in 2011 and is represented by super agent Scott Boras.

Karns has good stuff and great results, with the caveat of his age(like pretty much every pitching prospect in Washington's system). He actually had the highest ZiPS projection of Washington's 5th starter candidates, albeit barely. When it was just Lobaton I thought that was a steal for the Rays, now it's probably pretty equivalent value.

Wouldn't have minded him on that contract.

We got Bonifacio on a minor league deal evidently.

I like it. He gets to fight with Roberts and Watkins for a job, and I think I like him best out of the three.

Braves extend Kimbrel.

And Reds are working toward an extension with Homer Bailey, reportedly six years and about $100 million. That seems like a lot for him.

He was a 3.7 fWAR pitcher last year and was set to hit free agency at 28. I really had my eye on him because of the age.

I have mixed feelings about Bailey. Given his age he'd be a more likely target for the front office, but I'm also distrustful of 2013 being the new norm. That may be irrational because he's a Red or that he was average for so long, but I can't shake the feeling that he's more Edwin Jackson than Anibal Sanchez.
