ZiPS only has Choo a 3.0 WAR player in 2014 and Steamer's got him at the same figure, so it's not a ZiPS outlier or anything.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports writes that the general sense among teams is that Shin-Soo Choo will sign if he gets an eight-year deal.

Previous reports indicated that he was looking for a deal in the range of Jacoby Ellsubry's seven-year, $153 million contract with the Yankees, but it appears that he's aiming higher. Passan hears that he already has one seven-year offer on the table. The 31-year-old outfielder has been mentioned in connection with the Mariners and Rangers in recent days.
