let's play another round of arbitrary endpoints!

last 29 games

.324/.440/.549 (.346 babip)

162 G pace: 118 R, 34 HR, 90 RBI, 123 BB : 107 K

makes his average a lot better but i think his HR pace is that for the season as it is

regardless...SEXY

...but it doesn't help when he puts up an 0-6 spot with 3 K's, that's for sure.

all players do that, every great hitter has those days.

where the hell did you dig this up from?

Probably the day after Liriano.

You know Rizzo has been/will be excellent that even that raging homer dbag Hawk Harrelson is gushing about him as he was during Rizzo's AB in the 9th yesterday. I almost fell out of my chair that he was fellating a Cubs player so much when the Sox were losing by 8 runs.

what was he saying?

The Hawk endorsement is just brutal; next up photos will be leaked of him in hockey gear and you'll brush that off, too!

Remember Opening Day?
Will Rizzo ever hit lefties?

I'd rather have Cashner than Rizzo. Although, many will be outraged by such a statement.

Aaaaaaand Andrew Cashner is back on the DL with elbow soreness.

This is pretty much who we knew Cashner was. He's Josh Johnson. Incredibly effective when he's healthy, but if you use him as a starter you're going to get 1/2 to 2/3 of a year out of him. You switch him to bullpen you probably get to keep him all year, but his value takes a huge hit. Zero regrets on that Rizzo deal.

The Pads handled him extremely carelessly. Went from 69 innings in 2012 to 175 last year. Previous high in pros was 110. This one's on them.

Does his dad still post here?

I think you're confusing Cashner with Sean Gallagher.

Oh man, that just Gallagher's dad? That's oddly disappointing.

I don't really remember posting this or the context but yes, I realize that.

I wonder if there will be a re-write of the article proclaiming the Padres the winners in the Cashner-Rizzo trade? With an MRI due today and a very vague "elbow soreness" putting on the DL. It seems a bit more severe than soreness, if they felt the need to DL him before even having the MRI done. Cashner has skill, but this is the exact reason he was tradable in the first place.

Anyone else surprised that Matt Adams has been the best defensive first baseman this year?

the metrics for defense are unreliable in general. For first base they aren't worth noting.
