Carrie Muskat posted a 'projected' lineup that is identical to that, save Lillibridge and Valbuena swapping places.

Pirates are going:

Marte LF r

Jones RF l

McCutchen CF r

Alvarez 3b l

Sanchez 1b r

Walker 2b s

Martin C r

Barmes SS r

Burnett P r

That's a little better than I thought their lineup was. But if Samardzija can't dominate that on a coldish day in April, I will be disappointed.

Is this game going to actually happen?

High of 41 with rain scheduled. I'd be surprised if it started on time in any case.

It certainly won't be a wash out tomorrow so I have to imagine they'll get the game in:

A chance of showers, mainly before 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. West wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Opening Day is without a doubt my favorite day of the year.

As someone stated above, hopefully we can be around .500 for a while, and at least make the decision to sell off the extra parts a tough one.

only three guys in the opening day lineup who should be batting eighth, sweet

Was this about our lineup or yours?

Samardzija should be batting 6th.

It seems every time there's a little rain in the forecast somebody says something like this. I don't get it.
