  1. Hi all, I know I haven't been around in a while. But wanted to offer my condolences. Someplace in the archives here is a picture taken in Philadelphia eight years ago this fall at a Cubs Philiies game include Fred, me and a few others from here. Fred was coming through and reached out to me and the others and organized us all meeting up at the game. Lost touch over the past couple of years. Only good memories... May his memory be for a blessing..
  2. And on that note, I'll bid you all adieu. I probably won't be around the rest of the weekend. Too much to do. Be well.
  3. Shallow RF, closer to the line than right center Damn. Based on gameday (Taken with the proverbial grain of salt) that was his pitch. I'll be he's kicking himself.
  4. POS? Piece of Sh*t, which he is whether you like it or not. I meant why is he a POS?
  5. I yearn so hard for a Soler dong Not that there's anything wrong with it.
  6. They traded for him that deadline. Came along with Grabow For two guys who I can't remember who mostly took up some DL space. Oh, and some throw in low A guy. Who played in the all star game for us last year. Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio? That's it. Had their names blocked out for some reason.
  7. I just had stir fry for lunch, thus undercutting your stir fry for dinner last night. Pirates will now win the series. Whatever I win: http://www.benjyehuda.com/ You know me too well, I fear.
  8. They traded for him that deadline. Came along with Grabow For two guys who I can't remember who mostly took up some DL space. Oh, and some throw in low A guy. Who played in the all star game for us last year. We had to actually give you something of value this time after giving you garbage for Aramis. You had to go Aramis on me, didn't you.
  9. No one expected that OPS or BABIP to stay the same. But no one predicted this fall, either. He's been hitting the past week or so, so maybe he's back to what he should be. The thing that was amazing last year was his line drive rate. If he can get back to that, or even close, he can maintain an above average BABIP.

  11. Hi. Doing this thing called work. :banghead: <- What I'm doing at work today.
  12. I just had stir fry for lunch, thus undercutting your stir fry for dinner last night. Pirates will now win the series.
  13. pisspoor play on offense by both teams in the first.
  14. No expectation-shifting. We already won two. We don't need to beat your ace with our No. 4 to make a statement. You totally missed the point.
  15. ...then you went like 12-4 against the Cubs the rest of the way. Not gonna happen this year. But the Brewers are worse, the Reds lost a key starter, and the Cards lost wainwright. Even with you guys getting about 10 games better, we can still win in the Mid 80s. As I said earlier, you guys have, early, established yourselves as the team to beat. But the Pirates are not going away quietly. You just spent two days beating up on our #5 and #6 starters. Cole is close to establishing himself as an Ace. Tonight is the night for your team to make a statement.
  16. Not yet. Keep in mind we started off 11-19 last year. Things could be worse.
  17. Cervelli has been especially bad, 21/26 SB allowed in 16 starts. Granted, 6 of those steals are Billy Hamilton in the first series, and at least 3 of the 6 last night he had no chance to prevent, but I don't think all the attempts are a coincidence either. Sigh. We know, we know.
