Dallas Cowboys: ESPN reports that Monte Kiffin has agreed to become defensive coordinator of the Cowboys. Sources tell us the Cowboys are also looking to bring someone new in to run the offense. Offensive staff members have been informed of this decision. Will keep you updated.

It's not ironic that Jones will do whatever it takes to keep his "chosen one" (Garrett) in place. The only thing that would be a bigger blow to his ego would be firing himself as an incompetent GM.

there was that one guy that a few games into the year they "took play calling duties" away and then like a game later fired him. I forget who it was but there is a precedent to almost firing a guy before you fire him.

Jim Zorn, I believe.

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that there is "much greater concern" about Robert Griffin III's reconstructed right knee than Griffin or "anyone connected to the Redskins" has let on.

This sucks. He is so much fun to watch, and seems like a decent human. Really hate to see this happen to him.

how bad could it be? i'm sure it's nothing that can't be fixed.

I've had to deal with minor knee injuries, and though I don't have access to the state of the art medical teams the pros have, I still have lingering issues years down the road. For someone who relies on quickness like RG3, if there's more damage than just ACL/MCL, it could really hamper his playing style.

Here's the longer link.

Basically, there is talk that his meniscus is torn and that he may not have much cartiledge left which could result in bone on bone which would require microfracture surgery in the future.

Isn't Ryan a 3-4 guy? I don't think St. Louis has the personnel for that, which makes it an odd fit.

I'm pretty sure he can do both. His dad, Buddy, was famous for the 46 Bear defense and passed it along to Fisher. I don't think Rob Ryan would fit into a Cover-2 scheme or anything, but I think he'd fit well with Fisher.

The Bills and Chargers are 2 of the 3 teams Lovie interviewed for, and now they both have coaches. The Eagles are potentially still an option for him, but I think they narrowed their search down to Wisenhunt and another dude who isnt Lovie. Will be interesting to see what happens to Lovie if he doesn't get a head coaching gig.

And Monte Kiffin got the DC job in Dallas.

He could sit out this year and get paid for it, if nothing works out.

Good thing they didn't give him that extension in October.

I still think Lovie winds up as a defensive coordinator somewhere. Teams would be dumb not to hire him and it'd be easier for Lovie to leave a DC position after one year than a college HC job.

I think Lovie has too much pride to go the college route. Everyone knows he wants to be an HC in the NFL again. And I'm pretty sure he wants to as he interviewed several places this offseason. I do think his style would play well at the college level though. I think he'd be a great recruiter, especially in the Texas area. I think college kids would really love playing for him.

I think Lovie's stoic professionalism plays much better in the NFL than in college.
