Jerry Jones is getting serious. Marinelli as D-Line coach is a really good hire.

Its a good hire but Marinelli fell in his lap.

Apparently Pep Hamilton is the leading candidate to replace Arians as OC in Indy.

how'd they manage to keep Pep Hamilton out of the SEC, anyway?

Good point.

Marinelli willingly took a demotion to leave Chicago?

I think he's foolish. But I agree that's a nice hire for JJ.

Tim Brown said on Sirius/XM this morning that Bill Callahan changed the Raiders' game plan 36 hours ahead of the SB vs. Tampa Bay ten years ago. He attributes this to Callahan and Gruden being good friends and hating the Raiders (recall that Gruden had been their coach the year prior). Brown said that Callahan sabotaged the team and that they never had a chance.

That seems pretty unbelievable. Why wait this long to bring it up?

While Callahan is known for being a royal a-hole, isn't Tim Brown a pretty surly dude himself? I agree that the timing is awfully strange.

Zack Crockett was just on M&M, and he said the gameplan was simplified because Barret Robbins suddenly wasn't going to be there, and they had to use a long snapper at center with no chance for the guy to get up to speed.

NFL is looking to revise the Rooney Rule after no minorities have been selected for any of the HC or GM positions yet.

What are they going to do? Require that if 8 teams are looking for a HC, 2 have to hire a minority? Because that makes sense.

Who knows. Maybe they feel the Rooney rule has depleted high level minority assistants and are going to try and push it down to lower level positions to close that gap too.

That's what they said during the CBS pregame show Sunday. Make it cover offensive and defensive coordinators.

Well, Jerry Rice is about to take Tim Brown's Sabotage-the-Super-Bowl theory one step further on ESPN's NFL Live at 4 ET.

If this sabotage the SB story is at all true, wouldn't it be in line with the Black Sox scandal? Top 10 sports controversies of all time?

The timing of this continues to make little sense.

It'll have legs for awhile but if all it comes down to is "he changed the game plan!" I don't see it becoming very controversial. Looks like Rice is just parroting what Brown said.

All this does is reaffirm what we already know, which is that Bill Callahan is not a good head coach.

Doing it for money is one thing. Doing it for a friend, when your friend's life/job/etc aren't on the line, just so his reputation exceeds yours? Different level.

And we're talking about a bad coach going against another coach who had designed his offense. It makes a sort of sense he'd panic and do that

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Callahan knew he couldn't out coach Gruden with Gruden's system, and so he cracked -- made a terrible decision under pressure.

Not sabotage. Just a bad coach making a bad decision.

At least four players on the Redskins were duped during the 2012 season by a person posing as a woman who was sending them messages online and hoping to meet them in person, Jeff Darlington of NFL.com reports. Players attempted to meet her in person but nothing ever came of those meetings.

“Every offensive player wants the football and there’s good ways to go about trying to get that done. This is a pretty good example of a not so good idea,” Schwartz said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “Guys are responsible for what they post, what they say. You wear your uniform 24 hours a day now, everybody’s aware of that. We obviously still got some ground to cover there.”

“Oh I’m not done, if y’all going to cut me let me go. I’m tired of the threats,” Young tweeted. “Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame”
