Hahaha. Danny Amendola's agent on how the Rams claiming Titus Young affects Amendola's FA negotiations....

“I don’t think it affects Danny one bit,” agent Erik Burkhardt told Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Titus Young isn’t anywhere in the same ZIP code as Danny as far as a player goes.

“I’m sure Young may disagree with that because he thinks he’s better than Calvin Johnson.”

I love that people are speaking out about how ridiculous Titus Young is.

I believe the point is that we have a limited amount of money to spend in FA this offseason and the line has to be the top priority.

If it comes down to spending big dollars on a WR or one of the top OL...that's a really easy choice.

That's why I was asking about the cap space. I don't keep track of these things. OL is definitely a bigger priority.

It's talked about quite a bit in the bears offseason thread.

Do you think Marshall, Jeffrey and a pile of poop is a good enough receiving corps?

At this moment? No, but it would be good enough "if" Jeffery improves and Bennett actually stays healthy the whole season. I also expect that Bears will add a WR and TE this offseason.

My other thing is that Bears have other needs and if they're looking at WR, it's for a burner/downfield threat type WR. Marshall is a better version of Boldin and Jeffery has a similar skill set as those 2. That's why I don't see Bears making a run at Boldin. If Bears didn't have Marshall, I would totally be all over Boldin (or possibly Bowe if you think he can step up with a good QB).

I believe Bears cap space is 13.3 mil this offseason. A good chunk of that will go to Melton (5 mil or less is what I'm hoping) and a couple mil to the draft picks.

I think you have to prefer the line, but if you can make the WR corps a dominant force with multiple weapons it will make up for a lot of what the line lacks. If you can't fine the lineman you want to help you but you can find the receiver, take the receiver and dare the defenses to attack your QB as he spreads the ball around.

Eagles resigned Vick

Great. Now the Chiefs are going to take Geno Smith instead of Joeckel. [expletive].

That just boggles my mind that they would do that. I don't dislike Smith at all, but Joeckel is a far superior player and there will be comparable QBs in the second round (Bray, Wilson, etc).

WR Titus Young will be cut by the St. Louis Rams today, according to sources. Those same sources told The Shadow League's Rob Parker that Young, who was released by the Detroit Lions last week, might not play football again.
