I may have been wrong on trestman. If he can produce that type of talent with little trestman he may be able to fix the line all on his own.

Technically, he had a lot of help producing that talent.

He must have supplied the raw goods on his own while his wife developed it once they were in the organization.

Either way, this is a huge + for Trestman. This shows an ability to identify a prospect that had the upside and then to get that prospect to output that level of talent on a consistent basis.

Apparently the interview with Arians last night included Cutler. Arians requested that Cutler be included. He was the only candidate to meet with Cutler, and Cutler was on there for about 90 min (described as very positive) of the 7.5 hours that Arians was interviewed.

All per Brad Biggs.

My mind can't process this.

This is idiotic sensationalistic journalism. Written just to get a click or get cited by other news agencies. Stupid stupid story. But it's about Tebow so some stupid journalist decided it was worth it. Yahoo had something about the Bears ditching Cutler for Tebow since Tressman and Tebow had a "connection" in the past.

Doesn't he have pretty much the exact same connection with Cutler? Or was that another coach in the search?

That was Trestman.

I didn't link the story but it is a headline on Yahoo sports saying something like "will the Bears keep Cutler". I don't think the story deserves the publicity I am providing with this post.

Given Jimmy Johnson's "it looks like" tweet, when it certainly didn't look to anybody else that Trestman was the guy, and given the fact that DeCamillas went from supposedly interviewing for the head coach position and then willingly accepting an underling role under Trestman, within hours of the announcement, I think this decision may have been made much earlier than has been reported.

and could mean that interviewing all these other guys really was emery just picking their brains.

All signs pointing to Rod Marinelli leaving the Bears. Being recruited to stay but likely to depart. could end up in DAL with Monte Kiffin

I'd like to hear the rationale. That seems like the dumbest career move ever.

Well if it happens, Jon Hoke for DC.

Yeah, Hoke has really been great for the secondary.

Babich apparently wants to move on, and may end up in Jax.

babich is the white lovie smith. it's weird, listen to him talk, it's like the michael/kobe thing.

Uh, those are both black guys.
