So basically we've had injuries to both of our lines to start training camp.

Not good.

Typically where most of the injuries come. Wish they would have kept Carimi at least til the end of camp for this reason alone.

“Corey is day-to-day,” coach Marc Trestman said after practice. “He’s got a ding in his hip. He’s going to get an MRI. We don’t think it’s serious.”

A Rotoworld blurb mentions that TE Leonard Pope is getting a tryout with the Bears. Might be a decent 2nd or 3rd option.

I really wanted the Bears to draft him, I remember.

The Chicago Bears added a linebacker to the fold Friday morning when Andrew Starks, an undrafted free agent from Princeton, was signed.

Starks takes the place or kicker Austin Signor, who will be placed on waivers.

The GM of the Future - Chicago's Phil Emery is showing how an open-minded mix of old- and new-school approaches to running a franchise is the best way to go

Don't really agree with him that the Lovie firing was bound to be poorly received, but w/e.

Not sure if I'm as sold on Emery as Barnwell is, but this was a good read at least.

Unless someone got cut, he'd be the 7th TE in camp. Seems odd. Bennett, Maneri are locks because of $$$ I would guess. Kyle Adams has experience on the roster and they've been raving about Fendi Onubun since the spring. May be keeping 4 TEs and no FBs.

I thought TE was where the Bears had no depth. Wouldn't Pope be an upgrade?

So losing Trestman really messed up the Alouettes....

BREAKING: #Alouettes fire Dan Hawkins as head coach, GM Jim Popp will take over the role.

The Alouettes had a 2-3 record after 5 games.

The offence, which was Montreal’s strength under former coach Marc Trestman, looked disorganized and lifeless under Hawkins, who was coaching a professional team for the first time in his career.

I'd guess hiring Dan Hawkins is what messed them up.

At this point, I'm not sure he can get a job coaching intramurals.

They have plenty of bodies. The lack of depth concerns probably stem from the fact that most of the world doesn't know who Steve Maneri, Kyle Adams, Fendi Onubun, Brody Eldridge, and Gabe Miller are, and could probably ballpark that they've combined for 26 catches in their careers.

And no, I don't think Pope would be an upgrade. He'll be 30 when the season starts and isn't much of a pass catcher anymore (not that he ever really was). Decent enough blocker, so maybe Maneri's struggling in camp. Haven't heard either way.

There's bodies and there's depth. 26 catches combined is the definition of lack of depth.

Colts roster of TEs had 6 going into last year. 2nd and 3rd TEs is not an area to be worried about. Maneri and Adams both have a decent amount of experience, despite the lack of catches. Pope is not going to make a difference. He's old, slow and got beat out by a 7th rounder in Pittsburgh last year.

They signed Pope and released Eldridge.

Also, Wootton announced as day to day. Guess that means good news on the MRI.

6th round pick last year CB Isiah Frey has supposedly made a big impact in camp and is a completely different player.

We really need some young CB depth...

Be nice if he could take hold of the nickel spot. I like Bowman and Hayden as backups on the outside. Still probably looking to add a slot CB either way though.

A source tells ProFootballTalk.com that Packers LT Bryan Bulaga has a torn ACL in his knee.

Bulaga sustained the season-ending injury in Saturday night's intrasquad scrimmage. After making 33 starts at right tackle over the last three years, he was pegged as Aaron Rodgers' new blindside protector. The Packers will now have to move Marshall Newhouse back to the left side, and perhaps try fourth-round pick David Bakhtiari on the right. Newhouse started every game at left tackle last year, but struggled badly and graded out as ProFootballFocus' No. 54 overall tackle. It's not good news for Rodgers.

Well that certainly makes things a bit more interesting.

could have been called for hands to the face and holding on that play

Well holding is practically legal in the NFL, so that doesn't really concern me too much. I don't know about hands to the face though...I think that'd be a pretty tight call.
