The rumors are that current ND players had assumed it was a lie and that Te'o had been seen around campus with women and been known to have had relationships with them.

He's the best HS player I've ever seen in person.

 

Outstanding! I was hoping one of you Illinois guys would have seen him or know of him. One of the national Rivals writers pretty much just wrote something similar and said he is definitely the best blocking WR he's ever seen in HS. Apparently really has his head on straight too, very humble.

 

With his commitment Ole Miss is now 11th in recruiting.

His team won a state title and he was, by far, the best player on the field. He ran, caught, passed, intercepted, and laid people out. Totally freak of an athlete.

 

The humble part...I'm not so sure about.

His best friend Anthony Standifer is a freshman DB there, plus he became friends with Robert Nkemdiche at all the all-star camps and games, and he likes the spread offense that Hugh Freeze is running.

Te'o's uncle did a radio interview this evening claiming that Tuiasosopo (as himself, not as the fake girl) was hitting the Te'o family up for money, ostensibly for a leukemia foundation dedicated to Lennay. Te'o supposedly promised his uncle/family that he would cut the guy out a few days after the USC game. It was a week and a half later that "Lennay" resurfaced.

and the OC, Gunbelt Gibson.

 

Its good for Ole Miss, but they might end up with 3 or 4 5 star recruits. Always looks a little funny when suddenly a school gets this kind of pull out of no where.

One of those five stars is the brother of a Freshman All-American who goes to Ole Miss (Nkemdiche), another five star is from 20 minutes away (Tony Conner), and I've already explained what drew Treadwell in.

 

Treadwell and Nkemdiche were both known to be actively recruiting for Ole Miss at the Under Armour game, so Ole Miss is going to get some visits in the next few weeks that they normally wouldn't have gotten.

 

If those three 5 stars had no connection to the Rebels then maybe you could question it. But all of them do, so it's really just a fortuitous year for recruiting.

Late Thursday evening, an independent baseball team, the Florence (Ky.) Freedom, announced it would have "Manti Te'o Girlfriend Bobblehead Day."

 

As part of the promotion in late May, the first 1,000 fans will get an empty bobblehead box, there will be a pretend kiss cam for fans to kiss their imaginary friends and there will be an imaginary food fight in the kids' area, as well as an air guitar contest.
