I don't know much about Haren. . . . totally understand the deadline trade possibility, but is this a guy that has potential to hang around a few years?

I wouldn't mind it if he starts pitching like he used to. He was a consistent 6 win player in the past.

I have to assume he's in the bounceback-and-trade category of acquisitions. In terms of guys like that, Haren was probably the best one on the market. Not only can he net us a big return, but it means it's one less guy like Joe Blanton we don't need to get for this season.

I would think it's probably not very likely. This has hope he builds value and trade him at the deadline written all over it. I certainly wouldn't mind it if he stuck around for a bit provided he regains a couple ticks on his FB.

Yeah, potentially I would think. He's only 31. But he does have about 2000 innings on his arm in the last 8 years. He could be the best pitcher on the staff or his arm could fall off.

He just turned 32 actually.

Weird source, but Brett picked it up as well...

According to Yancen Pujols of the Caribbean, a Dominican media outlet, Carlos Marmol says he’s been traded to the Angels. Given the timing, if it’s true, it seems like Dan Haren will be involved.

Obviously I’ll have many updates as soon as possible.

Could just be smoke, but would be awesome if true, if that's all it took (+ money, I'd assume)

Not a weird source. He works for one of the top papers in the Dominican.

Go get Ryu and Marcum now and use Wood as a part of a trade for something young. At any rate, Shark/Garza/Haren has the potential to be a very stout top 3 of a rotation.
