Tulane safety Devon Walker was injured on the last play of the first half during Saturday's game at Tulsa and left the field in an ambulance.

Walker did not appear to move as he was being treated. Fox sideline reporter Desmond Purnell said on the television broadcast of the game that Walker stopped breathing for a time but resumed after paramedics used CPR.

I'm trying to figure out why he quit breathing. It looked like a lot of football plays. Scary stuff though.

According to Twitter...

"According to a TU trainer, Walker suffered a broken neck & collapsed lung. He had to be revived on-field, & a tracheotomy was performed."

That's horrifying.

This is why I can't get into football. I know you can get hurt in any sport, but the risk is so high in football.

Southwest Missouri State hung around against K-State longer than Miami. And that was with K-State trying stuff like this:

Bill O'Brien is a moron. Your kicker is 1-4 on field goals and you have your quarterback kneel for a 4 yard loss just to center the ball to set up the game winning field goal. Why the [expletive] wouldn't just call a handoff up the middle?

I don't care how many sanctions you have limiting you but you've gotta find a better kicker than that Penn State. 1-5 from FG and 1-2 XP, missing from 20, 38, 40 and 43 and having an XP blocked. The kicks werent even close either. Geez, that kicker singlehandedly lost the game for Penn State. He makes any of those 5 kicks he missed, including the XP, and they havent lost as I type this.

First tweet I read about the PSU kicker:

The Penn State kicker shouldn't worry because folks in State College are pretty forgiving of people who do bad things.

yeah, like Ohio State and Notre Dame (and Alabama)

and what kind of a miserable piece of [expletive] self-pronounced UM fan bashes Denard?

Alabama?

if you read brian cook's recaps, which are required reading for every true UM fan, you wouldn't have this embarrassing, incorrect opinion

read this and get back to me

This should be good. Let's hear more about Denard going 11/26 for 200 yds, a TD and 2 int, along with 10 carries for 27 yards (and a TD). That's the performance we are going to promote?

Or even better, let's hear why UM fans aren't allowed to criticize him at all.

Ugh. IU just probably lost the only good thing they got going for them, Tre Roberson probably out for the year after his ankle pops out of his leg.

But at least Gunner Kiel is coming in the game!!!! oh wait.
