Frankly, I expect ND to play it similar to how they played Navy with lots of running and not much reliance on Golson. I think the 3 QBs idea is stupid so I'm glad Hope is sticking to it. I don't think the QB is going to change what ND does on D which is rely on the D line, OLBs and Manti to make plays. If one of them has time to stand back and survey the field every down, it's going to be a shootout.

A couple other things to watch for (if you care). Raheem Mostert led the FBS in kickoff return average last year as a true freshman. He's an explosive kick returner. Also, DT Kawann Short is our best player. Walter Football actually has him mocked to go to the Bears in the 1st round of next year's draft. He blocked a field goal and an extra point last week and usually gets double teamed.

Yeah I know about Short. Hopefully he lines up against our left side which is markedly better (Watt and Martin) than the right side (Golic).

I don't worry much about KR as I expect ND will kick it out of the end zone every time. The kicker has the leg to do it though Kelly commented that they tried a few different types of kicks against Navy. If the KR is explosive I doubt they give him a chance.

[expletive] Notre Dame.

You've got a chance. Put up a lot of points and we have woefully unproven corners and Motta at SS is no Harrison Smith. If we don't get a pass rush, the QBs will have a chance to put up a lot of yards.

QBs plural is right. Hope insists on using a three, yes three, quarterback rotation. It's insane. The strengths of Purdue's team are the D-Line, CBs, and speed at the skill positions. I would be surprised if they tried more than 2-3 passes beyond 15 yards from the line of scrimmage. You'll see lots of running the ball and lots of screens and short throws. I don't think we win, but I like the odds getting 14.5 points.

If they're smart they'll throw and throw often. ND's freshman CB got burned numerous times by Navy WR's. Sticking to screens and runs plays right to ND's strengths.

Oh, I agree, and Marve is the best QB suited to that but he'll only get maybe 40% of the snaps. Plus ND will probably be looking pass when he comes in. Marve should be starting but he gambles and is going to throw some picks, you gotta take the risk to get the reward IMO. TerBush is vanilla and vanilla doesn't win games against a team with more talent on the roster.

That was a risk ND was willing to take so that was the scheme used. Not saying Russell is Dijon Sanders but they dared Navy to throw a lot knowing they wouldn't and put the corners on islands and played safeties close. I think we'll see a lot of zone this week.

literally no one cares.

I wasn't the one that originally posted about A&M on this thread so obviously someone cares.

it was more of a "look how these inferiority complex ridden hillbillies from the south spent the last nickel they made moonshining," post as opposed to "you know who is a relevant college football program? texas a&m. let's discuss."

And I responded with the FACT that A&M had absolutely nothing to do with that crap. I have no idea what school you went to or even if you went to that college but if someone was making them look bad wouldn't you want to set the record straight even if, God forbid, some anonymous internet poster may not care about it?

I want to talk about the Golden Gophers and their 6'4" 245 lb QB named MarQueis and why he keeps overthrowing his wr's, but I'm afraid it has nothing to do with the Aggies and therefor doesn't matter.

I feel sad.

I'm interested.

What other teams don't you care about? I'm really curious.

as a general rule, i'm not gonna care about the kickoff return breakdown for ANY game. so we can start there.

he has 2 kids and missed at least 3 TD's against UNLV by overthrowing wide open WR's by a lot.

did he block an extra point last week? if so, link to video please.

Usualy I would agree. However, it's relevant when you have the best average in the entire FBS. That being said, you don't care about the game anyway so why waste the time saying you're not interested?

That would have been awesome for ND last year since Rees can't overthrow a WR standing more than 5 yards passed the LOS.

it wasn't. it was as if he is a Div 1 QB playing with Jr Varsity wr's and the game ended up in 3OT. It never should have been that close.

if only he would have blocked a [expletive] FG.

Grown ups are not supposed to care about their alma mater? Interesting point of view. What junior college did you attend?

one without boy cheerleaders leading the crowd in chants and games of patty cake.
