The Bulls really ended up with a global goldmine with Jordan; it's insane how much Bulls gear still sells all over the world because of him.

That and they sell out the largest arena in the NBA just about every game.

Anyways, from that article in linked on the last page, these are the most profitable teams and their average annual profit over a 5 year period.

1. Bulls - $55 million

2. Lakers - $38 million

3. Pistons (?!) - $34 million

4. Knicks - $30 million

5. Rockets - $29 million

So it's pretty much Bulls by a pretty significant margin. But still JR has never gone into the luxury tax. I've understood the decision most years, but I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever go that much over (it looks like we'll be going over this year)

Nitpick, but the Bulls went 1-4 without Rose against the 76ers. They didn't almost beat them.

ok, "they could have easily beat them". they blew the big lead in the second half of game 3 after noah left, then the horrible meltdown at the end of game 6. even game 4 they were in until the end, and game 2 was a ridiculous fluke shooting performance by philly. [expletive], if the cj watson play doesn't happen, it would have gone to a game 7 in chicago where the bulls would have been favored. the 76ers definitely deserved to win, but the point is that the bulls weren't really outplayed by much at all. boston should have handled that team a lot easier if they were to be considered a legit threat in the east.

I don't get to play the excuse game with Boston's losses?

Yeah, for all the shots at how quiet the crowd can be, the fans have been pretty damn faithful in packing the place even when the team hasn't been all that good.

Jerry has to offset his Whie Sox financial losses by not getting into the luxury tax with the Bulls.

Why is there no talk about OJ Mayo? Haven't the Bulls tried to trade for him the last year or two? He's a FA now, unrestriced after Memphis failed to make him a qualifying offer.

A) I'm assuming the Bulls cant afford him

B) Strangely enough SG is like the 3-4th most important thing to worry about this offseason after backup PG, probably replacing Omer and replacing Korver our only outside shooter.

Because Reinsdorf is cheap and doesn't want to hit the tax.

It wouldn't just be Reinsdorf being cheap in this case. Mayo has already said he is not even considering mid-level offers, which is all the Bulls can give him (and that's assuming they cut players to get below the luxury tax. If they don't, they can't even offer him that much). So either he'll have to come well down on his demands, or the Bulls would have to do some sort of sign and trade. And Memphis is only a few million from the luxury tax themselves, so it would have to be a very good incentive for them to take on any more salary. It's possible to get Mayo to Chicago, but it would be difficult.

Joakim Noah announces he will not play for France in the Olympics, saying he's not far enough along in rehabbing his ankle injury.

i saw that. he said he was "not even close" to running or jumping.

and he went back in the game.

The incompetency of the Bulls' training staff is horribly overlooked. They've been awful for years.

It's also just possible that Noah is using this as a way to get out of doing the Olympics. It might just be something he wasn't all that keen on to begin with. *shrug*

It was the playoffs and he wanted to try to play. It was an ankle sprain. What was the harm in giving it a go?

Wait, I'm confused. What does Garpax have to do with Pete Myers?
