Is ball handling a learnable skill at this level? Because that's what I think McLemore should be focusing on.

Yeah it is to an extent. You can become a passable ball handler, but he's not going to develop not a point guard or anything unless that's all he worked on.

Exactly. Ball-handling is very much an improbable skill (all "skills" are). Like anything, there is an individual ceiling involved, but until that point is reached improvement is always possible. However, being a point guard is more innate--i.e., even if he improved his ball-handling to point guard caliber, it wouldn't inherently make him a "point guard" (speaking more generally here, I haven't seen McLemore enough to comment on if he specifically could become a point guard).

Illinois really pisses me off when they play with such low energy. Sitting behind the 3 point line and jacking up 3's and just expecting things to go well without effort.

They need to guard Gallegos. He's the only guy on Nebraska that can shoot and of course we don't guard him. Don't blow this game and be back on the bubble please.

It's really more his ability to create his own shot that he think is his biggest shortcoming. I guess that's ball handling+ first step/explosiveness?

That's probably never going to be his game, but he could get better there.

I think it can be improved by staying and working on it. But, it's not like he's gonna go higher in next years draft. In fact with wiggins, Parker, and the rest of the Kentucky kids he'd probably go lower. He has to go.

Oh, I agree. He'd be a fool to stay, especially considering his family situation.

What is his situation?

Plumlee is 6'10" and plays defense down low like a guard. Hands to his side, sliding over to go for a charge on a drive where he could have easily challenged and gone for the block.

Was thinking the same thing as I watched.

Family is and always has been dirt poor. Mom unemployed.

Good for him then, he's about to be able to print money.

This is like the Illinois game a little. If IU could hit shots this game would be over already. Got like 9 offensive boards and 2 second chance points. 11 turnovers forced.

Henderson was 3 of 18 from 3. Atrocious.

Too bad it wasn't senior night for Ted Valentine tonight, I believe he's one of the officials who think the crowd is there to watch him officiate. You can count on numerous [expletive] calls whenever he's on the floor. Is he the [expletive] who called a flagrant foul on Betrand last year while he was trying to rebound the ball?

This officiating is a joke. Hulls grabs onto Ingram's arm and draws the foul. IU fans booing every call against them when they've shot 36 free throws in 33 minutes.
