Someone familiar with the decision said the appeal went Braun's way not so much on contesting the result of the test but the testing process itself, some kind of technicality. And it was arbitrator Shyam Das who decided to rule in favor on that technicality, making it a 2-1 decision by the three-man panel.

sounds like mlb is very displeased.

However, one thing against him is that there is a 0 tolerance policy, and they'll likely jump on the opportunity to make an example of someone, especially one of the top stars in the game today. The fact that he has somewhat of a good guy image, though a bit of a douche could make them even more eager to use him as an example.

This is where I think the complete opposite. Wouldn't it be better for baseball for them to have Braun win the appeal? This is a huge, huge stain on the game right now when the MVP and one of the top hitters in baseball is labeled a cheater.

If guys are still doing this even today, the casual fan is going to just assume that baseball will forever be full of a bunch of cheaters.

So, what I'm saying is, I believe a big coverup is about to happen. Braun actually did cheat, but he's going to get away with it

Sweet. I've always wanted to be able to quote myself for being right.

That's stupid. It just opens the door for more people to get their suspensions overturned, using this as precident.

At least we got one good bit of knowledge out of this: Braun's rampant herpes.

No everyone is gonna go get herpes so they can cheat, GAAAHHHHHH

[expletive] castro is a genius!

I remember the herpes rumor, but last I checked it was posted by some blogger. Was their ever any follow up if it was legit or not?

oh, if only there were a way to look up [expletive] online!

which keeps bringing me back to unconfirmed reports.

No [expletive]. We all know Braun never came out and said he had herpes.

The only surprise here is that MLB let it leak in the first place. We all knew they weren't going to let their reigning MVP get busted.

Winner winner. People can say whatever else they want about why MLB would want him to get suspended, etc.......bottom line, this would have been very, very bad for business. Wasn't going to happen.

So ESPN says they just didn't FedEx the sample fast enough and that's the problem? Wtf? No science argument no nothing, he just gets off on the technicality. Fantastic.

Oh well, it won't affect the Cubs anyway. At least I'll be able to troll Brewers fans with this for years to come.
