sucks for the astros. i know correa is doing great, but still

Dont feel too bad. Drafting Correa allowed them to draft Lance McCullers, who's 19, in A ball, and has 75 strikeouts in 65 innings, and a sub-2.00 era

Roch Kubatko ‏@masnRoch 33s

Dylan Bundy had a setback today while throwing from 120 feet. More discomfort right forearm/elbow. Will see Dr. Wilckens tomorrow or Wed.

What a shame. The guy was the clear cut best pitching prospect in baseball and now who knows what the future holds. We may not see him until late 2014 if things go badly.

Only 13G and 51PA but Sano has struggled at AA so far.

.150/.275/.350 with 30% K. Has BB'd at 16% though.

Maikel Franco is having no such adjustment issues to AA after going toe to toe with Sano in the FSL.

courtney hawkins (white sox) has one of the more bizarre stat lines this year.

.199/.263/.525/.788

the good news? 13 home runs in 39 games played. 11 walks is also acceptable. the bad news? 75 strikeouts in 39 games, or a whiff in 48.1% of his plate appearances. i get that he's young for high A ball, but holy hell.

This has nothing to do with anything but this reminded me of Cubs reliever Courtney Duncan for the first time in about a century. I liked that guy.

This isn't the first time Keith Law has asserted that the Cubs weren't close in the Puig bidding (there were rumors a team had beaten the Dodgers' offer):

Tom (Pingree Grove, Illinois) Was it true that Puig probably would have signed with the Cubs if he didn't with the Dodgers? Thank you.

Klaw  (2:04 PM) No one else offered more than $10 million, which shows you something about how little the industry trusted what they saw at the time - out of shape, no game action, questions about makeup, etc.

While Javy is hitting for unreal power in AA, Francisco Lindor has 10 walks and 1 strikeout in the 10 games he's played since getting promoted to AA. Hitting .441. He's 19.

He does this at the start of every level. Then he quits hitting for average and still has no power. Both guys have their warts. Give me the light tower power.

Lindor is also nearly a full year younger than Baez. They're really close, but I give a slight edge to Lindor.

That said, since we already have a long term SS on the big league team, I'm not disappointed we have the guy with the higher offensive ceiling.

Yeah, I like Lindor as a prospect. I just prefer the offense that Baez brings to the table. Nothing more.

The two "woulda, coulda, shoulda" moves that have been available to us, that needed to happen were that([expletive] you Dempster) and Puig.

Yep. Having Darvish, Samardzija and Delgado at the top of the rotation would be pretty good right now.

I know Darvish was a blind bid but he definitely is the biggest miss of the "ones who got away." Certainly worse than missing out on either of the Cuban outfielders.

different FO, but don't look at Archer's numbers

to be clear, i don't mind trading him for Garza, i'm bothered that we were given the choice of Archer/McNutt and choose...poorly
