Anyone noticed what Houston prospect George Springer is doing? 27HR, 52 extra base hits and a 1.000 OPS between AA and AAA to go along with his 30.2% K rate. He's got all the makings of a superior BJax.

different FO, but don't look at Archer's numbers

to be clear, i don't mind trading him for Garza, i'm bothered that we were given the choice of Archer/McNutt and choose...poorly

The Rays are very good at developing their pitchers so you could also make an argument that the Archer we see out there now is not necessarily the same guy he would be if he had stayed in the Cubs organization.

noah syndergaard (acquired in r.a. dickey trade): 104.2 innings, 2.67 ERA between the FSL and eastern league, 25 bb/113 k. in the eastern league he's got a 9 bb/49 k ratio in 41 innings and an ERA under 2. and he's just 20. one of my favorite prospects... blue jays are going to regret that deal.

Harvey, Wheeler, Syndergaard, Montero ... that should be fun

lol at the video. it took him 29 seconds to circle the bases because it took him 10 seconds just to reach first base. when he hit the home run he stood and watched it for about 6 seconds.

probably better to teach him a lesson by benching than to have him get repeatedly drilled by opposing pitchers.

I can't believe the Mets got Wheeler for a half season of Beltran and Syndergaard (and d'Arnaud) for Dickey.

Anybody notice what the once hyped Dodgers prospect Andrew Lambo is doing this year?

Between AA and AAA

24 years old

In AAA he's hitting .273/.333/.606/.939 with 17 HR and 46 RBI in 54 games. In the Pirates organization

I had, but saw someone asked Law about him and he kind of blew Lambo's year off. Not sure what to think of him.

He probably wrote him off years ago and/or never like him as a prospect so there's no way he's backing down off his original feelings even if there have been significant changes/improvements to his game. Law is a stubborn bastard with stuff like that

california league at its finest - game in high desert ends 30 to 8

the score at the end of 2 innings was 20 to 1.

The box score is crazy. Every High Desert player had a hit, all but one had 2 hits and 7 of the 9 had at least 3 hits. Same for runs (each scored 1, all but 1 scored 2 and 7 of 9 scored 3). Six players drove in at least three but no player drove in more than 6.

"Here's the kicker: Bogaerts was the youngest player in the Eastern League and International League this year, and is now the third-youngest player in the majors behind only Jurickson Profar and Bryce Harper. There are few more reliable markers for future stardom than a player who excels at various levels while being younger than virtually everybody else."

When I read this I couldn't help but remember Kyle's comments about how Baez is #1 in OPS and #146 in age for Tennessee/Southern League

What's funny is that Bogaerts still older than Harper. It just blows my mind.

I'm happy with Bryant but holy [expletive] does Jonathan Gray look good

Poor kid is still going to have to earn his first real big money pitching in Denver. They should trade him next year.

The Reds will call up prospect outfielder Billy Hamilton on Monday.

The Reds were previously undecided about whether to include Hamilton among their September call-ups due to 40-man roster concerns, but the speedster could make a big impact even if he's limited to pinch running. The 22-year-old is batting .256/.308/.344 with six home runs, 41 RBI, and 75 stolen bases in 122 games this season in Triple-A. He's a must-own in NL-only formats, but it's unclear whether he'll play enough to be worth owning in most mixed leagues. It should be a fun sneak preview, though.
