Brandon Roy for SG. Per rotoworld:

John Canzano reports in the Oregonian that Brandon Roy is almost assured to be waived by the Blazers via amnesty.

"Brandon's out," a league executive told Canzano. "Don't know the exact details, but everyone around the league knows it's way, way done." Multiple teams would be interested in adding Roy once he hits waivers, but details are uncertain until the new CBA is in place and teams are allowed to openly discuss players. Stay tuned.

Don't know if I can justify making Roy the SG we need to pick up this offseason. At this point in his career, he is much less explosive as before and is someone you should absolutely not expect him to play more than 40 games at most.

I do like Roy and think its possible he can play a role on a good team (and produce throwback performances like in the playoffs last year) but we are in a position where we need to hit a HR with this SG as we will likely be grazing the luxury tax limit as soon as next season, so even the MLE isn't a guaranteed resource we will have. (unless JR shocks the world and decides to go over. But I doubt it, and I don't necessarily blame him)

The SG doesn't need to be a home run. He needs to be a viable 2nd-4th option depending on match ups who can guard, create a little, and shoot 3s.

Roy is definitely intriguing.

Ok sorry. By home run I mean someone who can do the things we need from him like create his own shot, play at least 26 minutes a night, and someone you can count on to be healthy come postseason.

Given the fact that his knee injuries have made him a slower and less explosive player than he was 3 years ago and given that I believe his type of injury is likely recurring, I just think its good much of a gamble.

there are rumors that the bulls might just go with cj as the 2 guard

that would be an embarrassment, but it's JR we're talking about so who knows.

I'm hoping you spelled "OJ" wrong, and that 2nd sentence was just you confusing yourself by accidently putting CJ above.

i wish the jr was jr smith

He'll be stuck in China for the next 6 months.

sounds like wilson chandler should just stay and be a superstar there.

I was actually thinking that... for real. I have no idea what the earnings potential actually is in China as a pro athlete, but I have to think if they are willing to pamper him and treat him like royalty, it could be a pretty sweet gig.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe Roy has more left than I thought.

Bulls' dream (sources say) & Heat's nightmare is for Chi to get Brandon Roy after Blazers cut him w/amnesty clause..

Even if he's not explosive that's ok as long as he can hit his outside shots and create once in awhile. When he was with Portland there were whispers that he dominated the ball too much, but I could see a less dynamic Roy settling into a sidekick role well.

The problem is of course the concern that he will injure those knees again and be available when we truly need him. People with chronic knee problems tend to miss games fairly often.

humping animals increased his strength [citation needed] so now he'll be able to actually get himself open instead of standing around the perimeter.

Let's hook Roy and TMac up with Kobe's Nazi blood doper and we'll be ready to rock

Many NBA people, including ESPN, saying the new CBA screws the Bulls. Cite the Derrick Rose rule- DRose will get paid more than LeBron. They also claim this new CBA helps Miami. Great.

The Bulls continued Wednesday to cast a wide net, contacting representatives for Caron Butler, Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Kurt Thomas, Jamal Crawford, Josh Howard, T.J. Ford, Keith Bogans and several others.

Caron Butler would be nice if he promises to shoot the 3 like he did last year. 43% last year was the highest of his career by a long shot (no pun intended).

Jamal Crawford is a solid player, but would like more size.

Other than that:

Hill- old and not sure where he'd fit in. Would he be the 3, with Deng at 2? Not sure I want that defensively.

Battier- getting old, but would be a decent pickup. Great defensively. Great shooter with size. Not sure how he fits with Deng and Korver. Can he backup the 4?

Howard- huge health risk, who I'm not sure can play at a high level anymore. If I'm going for that, I'd rather have Brandon Roy who can shoot better.

Ford and Bogans. - MEH.
