If Rivers is smart, he'll be comfortable being a 6 seed, but I'm guessing he's not and KG winds up with a season-ending injury.

Im pretty happy about the Hamilton news. He doesnt slash like 2 guards typically do but he shoots the mids off of dribble, pass etc, and can hit the 3s which is nice too. I especially like his mid range and perimeter game for this offense and Rose. This team is all about beating Miami and i think Rip is a big improvement in the offensive end. Oh and Rose needs to break LeBron off the dribble and hit that midrange jumper he is weak in.

 

I wish the season started Dec 24 a saturday with nothing to do and no football. Bulls playing Christmas night is nice though.

 

Last year was a pretty exciting year. This year is all about beating Miami and winning it all. Losing to Miami again will be like the Bulls pre champships losing to Det. That sucked balls.

Actually, Saturday the 24th is when the NFL will play. Just the Bears game on Sunday.

Yeah, didn't he write a column last week saying how there was no way Howard would go to the Bulls? And on his radio segment, he was saying how there was no way it would happen. I guess something made him be a little less negative about it.

It really sucks that Howard is so opposed to Chicago. Seeing as the Bulls are interested, they could definitely have put together a package that could compete with most anyone's.

Lakers will offer Gasol and Bynum. Take back Turkoglu and use their 15 mill worth of player exceptions to go find a power forward. No one's going to top that kind of offer. They'll probably get Billups too.

Albeit, maybe just positioning, per rotoworld:

 

The Lakers are reportedly unwilling to trade both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol in exchange for Dwight Howard.

The Lakers feel that the team can acquire another big man to replace Lamar Odom behind Bynum and Gasol using the trade exception acquired from Dallas. It will be interesting to see what the ultimate end game is for GM Mitch Kupchak, and he's got to address the depth issues for his team before the season begins.

 

I feel like a package focused around Noah, a big Florida guy, and some of the surplus of 1st rounders, would be pretty enticing. Could certainly beat anything the Nets put out there.

Yea it really is. I don't buy the "cold weather" stuff as he's willing to go to the Nets. Does he not care about championships? Rose and Boozer will get you there a lot quicker than the Nets minus Brooks Lopez.

Chicago is seen as a very attractive city for baseball.

 

There are 2 reasons I believe why Chicago is a step below NYC, LA, Miami, etc. the first is the weather. If you are getting offered a similar amount and can play for a 55 win bulls team or a 47 win Miami team (hypothetical) I can see why a lot of young rich people would rather live in Miami.

 

The other reason that I hear is that Chicago isn't located on the coasts. Although there are plenty of opportunities for marketing yourself in Chicago that you wouldn't get in probably 25 other NBA markets, people seem to believe that NYC and LA gives them much more exposure and many more opportunities outside of basketball. I think people see Chicago as a big city but as a step below NY and LA.

I think its just as much if not more the Russian dude. Who doesn't want to be involved with a high rolling Russian billionaire who promises to stop at nothing to dominate the NBA. There's at least one team you don't have to worry about whether they will go over the luxury tax. I guarantee you that the Nets will be at least 110% over the threshold at some point over the next 5 years. I make a similar promise that the Bulls will not be one dime over that level over the same span.
