lames floor rush ever

Students aren't back yet

Oh, I know, it was just funny. I saw a couple kids run out alone it looked like. Then like 15 seconds later a mob just sort of meanders across the floor.

Paul had a legendary night against the best team in the conference. Sorry hoosiers.

I dont even know what this means. That was a good outcome for IU.

He was apologizing to IU fans for considering OSU the best team in the conference.

Now the trick is going to be to not give that one back by losing at PSU.

All of a sudden, though, I feel like Illinois can beat every B1G team except Indiana this year.

The obvious advantage is that game being at Indiana.

I'm a huge fan, but maybe it is just the past 3 years fresh in my mind, I'm still not 100% sold on IU.

They are good, but I think their ranking is overweighted a tad, no matter how deserved it might be.

Haha, Brandon Paul's line tonight: 11-15 FG, 8-10 3PT, 13-15 FT, 2 assists, 7 TOs. Why pass?

How does that happen?

Divine intervention, I'm not sure how else to describe it.

But I'll take it.

Even funnier: Paul missed his first 3 shots from the field and had 4 turnovers in the first 7 minutes. At the 13:29 mark of the first half, Paul was 0-3 with 4 turnovers.

Illinois can definitely beat any team in the Big 10, but they are just as likely to shoot 27% on any given night and lose to the worst team. Tonight's win was huge, but I'm still under no illusion that they will compete for the conference title.

I know it. Early in the game he put up that pathetic airball on a floater and thought "well, looks like Brandon will be crapping the bed tonight".

The talent is there, but the team still look like they're all just aimlessly wandering around the perimeter on offense. I don't like to be a wet blanket, but I'm chalking this one up in large part to Paul just losing his mind in a manner we probably won't see again.

Then again the team is pretty young and consistently better play might come with more continuity.

i agree. we can't rely on paul getting a million points every night. it was a huge night for him and it's awesome, but i'm not convinced this team is any good with this offensive system.

On the plus side, Paul could get any shot he wanted tonight, and Leonard did fantastic defensively against Sullinger.

this doug mcdermott from creighton, i think i recognize him from when jereme richmond's high school team played harrison barnes's team. wasn't he on that aimes team?

Yes sir. Not a bad high school team at all.

God that was awesome to see BP explode like that. He needs to play with that sort of confidence all of the time.

Usually, when a guy hits 8 3's, that's pretty much all he does. A guy that can hit 8 3's, throw in some inside the arc and drive the ball to get to the line are pretty much unstoppable. Impressive performance.

And he was the only player credited with a block, and he had 4 of them.

Yep. He was signed with UNI. His dad was the head coach at ISU at the time and didn't think he was a Big-12 player and didn't think he would fit in with the state of the program. Once he left ISU for Creighton, Jacobsen let him out of his LOI and he followed dad to Omaha.

That would really suck for UNI fans. Comparatively it's almost like if Sullinger's dad had gotten hired at Michigan/MSU and Jared got out of his LOI and followed him there.
