lol, 10 seed after all this. (Though we were clearly bumped a spot) We're pretty much a lock at 8-10.

jerry palm (cbs) has a terrible bracket. nine big 10 teams in (the 5 good ones + purdue, illinois, nw and minnesota). just four big 12 teams in with k-state (64 rpi) in as a 10 seed, iowa state (39 rpi) and texas (40 rpi) out.

I posted on this board that Barlow was an enormous punk immediately after watching him play his first Big Ten game in person and knowing nothing about him prior to that. So I've got that going for me.

DJ Byrd just appears to be a giant douchebag, so I wasn't surprised at all to hear that he was arrested last night. True bro right there.

 

 

I understand he has that he-shouldn't-be-scoring-that-many-points-against-my-team-because-he's-not-that-good quality to him. I hate those types of players with a passion unless they play for a team I root for. I don't understand where how he comes across as a douchebag. Maybe I'm too close to the situation? The soft comment he made is kinda douchetastic I guess (although I find it pretty funny personally).

 

He just looks like a guy that I wouldn't really get a good first impression of, if I ever met him in person at some place. Chase Kramer was another guy from Purdue that I couldn't stand just because he had that douchebag persona about him.

 

Keep in mind that I have no ill will towards Purdue either.

Barlow started it and Byrd was backing up a teammate. Byrd might be a 'bro', but Barlow is the problem. I think it's all but official now that Barlow is kicked off the team. Multiple people saying it, just nothing official from Painter. Byrd has no history of behavior problems.

 

If Barlow is gone, at least one can give Painter credit for having the integrity to kick Barlow off the team for causing problems. A lot of schools would've looked the other way. Especially because Barlow wasn't even arrested.

 

Eh... if it is indeed true and Barlow is dismissed, I don't think Painter should be getting brownie points for it.

 

You think he should get another chance? He knew where he stood with the program and went out and got trashed on his birthday. I know he's a 21 year old kid but it's a pattern of behavior. Byrd on the other hand had a clean record. You can't be too rough on a kid when his first offense is a PI. It's not a DUI or battery or drugs, etc.

 

I'm not going to get into what else may or may not have happened since we don't know; but, I agree, public intoxication isn't really that big of a deal. A one-game suspension surely matches the crime.

Latest Bracketology has Michigan as a 3 seed, Illinois 3rd to last team in, playing in Dayton and Minnesota and Northwestern the 2nd and 3rd teams out respectively.

 

Also, the Bracket Matrix is getting a long awaited update tomorrow, so that should be interesting.

i would just eliminate them entirely as fouls, as most every referee can't seem to get them right and can use them to dictate the outcome of the game.
