He isn't gonna still be the coach by the Ohio State game. He broke Meyers Leonard. We had a kid who's brother was murdered by a stray bullet trying to console Meyers while our coach was ignorant to what was going on. Or just didn't care. Weber has to go now. Give him his money and get him the hell out of here.

I don't think it's the head coach's job to console Leonard during the game if he's just bawling about the result. It's not like he's been playing his ass off. He went for 9 and 5 in 32 minutes and wasn't giving much effort defensively.

The head coach is what casued this, he's done nothing but throw Meyers under the bus all year. This is a kid who lost his father at the age of 4, he's not the type of kid you can call out over and over without this type of thing happening. But, it's Bruce's style always one of the players faults, never the guy making 1.7 million a year.

see, i disagree here. meyers had plenty of opportunities, bruce didn't "break" anyone. meyers played lazy all year and never saw the consequences in terms of playing time. bruce may have failed him, but he didn't break him.

about time that little hobbit did something to help iowa state. soooo close to a perfect day for isu...they win, texas loses. if only stupid k-state had lost.

But now we're tied for 3rd in the conference, we can beat KSU next Saturday.

who cares about being tied for 3rd in the conf. if they finish with enough wins to get anywhere remotely close to 3rd in the conf, they're in regardless. i'm more concerned about pulling away from ksu and texas than i am getting closer to baylor.

We're up by two games on both teams. Texas has to play both Baylor and KU still and KSU plays Mizzou on Wednesday. We could be up by three games on both teams after they beat TT next week. Not really concerned with either team being able to catch us.

we're competing with texas and ksu for a tournament berth. we should want them to lose as much as possible. isu is not catching baylor.

and even if they don't catch isu in the standings, k-state will certainly be ahead of isu in the committee's mind with wins vs. mizzou and @ baylor.

So Illinois' complete meltdown might put northwestern in the tourney at 8-10ish in conference play, no? Assuming they hang on to beat Minny? Minny has a murderers row coming up and I think that puts NW 7th in conference.

Also, Shurna is now the all-time scoring leader at NW. I hope this is their year.

[expletive] Northwestern. I hope they never make it.

And what is going to happen if Iowa ends up in 7th?

Illinois's meltdown has nothing to do with Northwestern. It hurts their case because they went 1-1 against them. I think they need to go 9-9. 8-10 gives them no bad losses, but they'd have only 1 win over a lock tourney team, plus 1 vs Seton Hall who's firmly on the bubble.

A road win over a tourney bound Illinois could've been the difference.

So only six B1G teams? Hell Purdue can melt down too. Who knows how the Barlow situation will affect them. We cold end up with only 5 teams over .500 in conference play.

Kennedy crying about the charge call late.

That's because it was a [expletive] call. Dude flopped like his name was Bill Laimbeer.

Yeah, that was a horrible call. He was already falling backwards when contact was made. That's the definition of flopping.

Purdue won't be going 8-10 with home games vs Nebraska and PSU left.

Still that's only six teams.

So be it, just because it's the best conference in the country doesn't mean it has to have more than six. It's a strong bottom half, but not strong enough.

They'd go to the NIT (hopefully). They've blown all of their chances. I'm just hoping for some kind of postseason at this point.

I wonder what'd happen to a 9-9 Iowa team who wins a couple games in the BTT. They'd be 19-15 with 4 good wins and 3 bad losses.

Nah, had to get to 10-8.

The frustrating part of this season is that at least a bubble situation was there for the taking if either Basabe or Cartwright played at the level they were last year, much less both. They were sitting at 11-8, 3-3 with 3 good wins under their belt in the B1G (@Wisconsin, @Minnesota, vs. Michigan). Then they pissed away leads in two straight @Purdue and home vs. Nebraska. They get those two and they're squarely on the bubble right now with a good shot considering the remaining schedule.

The Illinois meltdown might be worth it to me just to know Illiniguy is probably crying himself to sleep every night.

I'm fine with it, but thanks?

I did feel really bad for Meyers today tho.
