So Nebraska is officially a BIG member today, the Pac 10 is now the Pac 12, and the Big 12 is still the Big 12...with 10 members.

Interesting going to the various websites to see how they have updated with the new members official.

B1G :)

QB Gunner Kiel, #1 QB in the class of 2012, top 20 overall in that class, allegedly giving Indiana serious consideration. I refuse to believe it until I see it. That would just be HUGE for Coach Kevin Wilson and Indiana football. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but Gunner is also being recruited by the likes of Oklahoma and Alabama so...yeah.

Mizzou was/is big on Kiel as well, but they got a commit from Maty Mauk this morning, so that should help IU's chances. If it's not Mizzou, I'd rather see IU get Kiel.

I'll be pulling for IU as well, mostly to keep him from going to OU. That will hurt their chances of landing DGB too who I am most worried about them getting.

Ohio State is vacating all their wins from last season as a self-imposed penalty. Big whoop.

So now officially the Sugar Bowl will be a game in which Arkansas lost, but nobody won.

Yahoo is said to be having another story come out about an SEC West team not names Arkansas or Ole Miss in the next month.

Why is the NCAA ignoring that the wife of one of the greatest players in Texas football history admitted that her husband's teammates took payments when they were in school?

blatant favoritism IMO

Where did she ever say they took payments?

She didn't say the word payments. I apologize for that appalling leap of logic.

She never even said took, said offered.

"Regularly, it's just dinner," she said of the offer of perks. "People in Texas are just being friendly. They don't mean anything by it at all. They don't really realize, I don't think, most of the time that it is a violation."

Yeah this is the same as your USC Trojans. Just cause you got caught as being one of the biggest cheating universities ever doesn't mean everyone is handing out Reggie Bush contracts. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying players haven't been offered things at Texas or any University in the country, but there is no shred of evidence of anything that anyone has done. Especially at the level of cover up at USC or OSU.

It's utterly laughable that you could listen to that interview she gave and come to the conclusion that she was merely implying that some UT players were getting offered dinners and things like that.

She clearly made a point of saying that McCoy was offered things by boosters/agents that were too good for some of his teammates to pass up.

Which explains why every news source is jumping all over the story. You want it to be more of a story than it actually is. UT has been giving the NCAA info on street agents for some time and have been one of the main reasons people like Will Lyles are being uncovered. Of course you will spin that as saying that the NCAA is just going to let them get away with whatever for helping them out. However I highly doubt if the administration had any reason to worry they would not be bringing in the NCAA that close to them to begin with.

If they are doing anything illegal I hope they get busted.

you are referencing the chuck oliver tweet. chuck attended Auburn, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't about Auburn. LSU fans are worried about a Will Lyles connection. I'm not sure what this one will be about.

Will Lyles and Patrick Peterson. Also heard it could be about Bama, at least I wouldn't be surprised.

Auburn, LSU, or Alabama. I don't care which one the report is about, just make it about one of them.

It could very likely be LSU. While I hope not, they have already revealed they did business with Lyles, so it wouldn't surprise me there's some smoke there.

This is from yesterday

Julie Roe Lach, the N.C.A.A.’s vice president for enforcement, made a presentation to the group, which included every men’s basketball coach, football coach and athletic director in the conference. When she opened up the room for discussion, Auburn’s football coach, Gene Chizik, raised his hand first.

He peppered Roe Lach with a flurry of questions about the N.C.A.A.’s investigation into Cam Newton and why the N.C.A.A. had not publicly announced that the investigation was over. Chizik complained that the inquiry’s open-ended nature had hurt Auburn’s recruiting and he followed up at least three times, leading to a testy exchange.

“You’ll know when we’re finished,” Roe Lach told Chizik, according to several coaches who were at the meeting. “And we’re not finished.”

It also appears the Kiel will not be heading to OU either now. Looks like this will become an Indiana, ND, and Michigan battle.

Looks like ND pulled back on both Mauk on Kiel some time ago. Rumor that Kelly doesn't like either of them for his system. Makes some sense with Kiel since he's pro-style (though he's a 5* and #1 QB) and Mauk runs that weird offense his dad basically created for him.

Or it could be that both soured on ND b/c they've got 4 QBs all with 2-5 years left, including Golson who Kelly is really, really high on. Who knows, but either way, I don't think ND is in the mix for Kiel. I also heard UM was out, but that might just be hopeful speculation by ND fans. Kiel is pretty quiet.

I think Michigan is behind in the battle for Kiel as well. It really sounds like Indiana is the team to beat. That would be a huge get for Indiana.
