I used to work at a place where everyone in my dept took an extra 5-10 minute lunch. We were mostly subtle about it and no one seemed to notice or care. Eventually we got this young kid who started taking 15-30 mins extra time at lunch and pretty much flaunted it. Well we can probably guess how that ended. I am under no delusions that there are a large amount of clean OSU players, but probably most of them understood that they should keep up a certain amount of appearances. If I was one of them I would probably be unhappy with Pryor even though I was not innocent. I mean how ignorant is it to get paid in checks. I think this is also the type of thing that separates most "dirty" players from other schools, the wisdom to not overdo it. Pryor like Bush before took it too far.

The coach in waiting thing has yet to work out for anyone, really, right? Muschamp still left, the Maryland guy Franklin who was coach in waiting still left, and now this WVU thing...it's almost like coaches shouldn't need to be told when they're done or something.

 

I guess Florida State's Jimbo Fisher move sort of worked out, but it still resulted in Bobby Bowden essentially being fired, which was pretty unfair.

FSU had the best recruiting class in the country last year and will be top 5 again this year. Might be unfair but looks justified now.

Bowden also had a cheating scandal under his watch that resulted in loss of 14 or so victories. He didn't seem to have known about it like Tressel, but it's safe to say it was time for him to go.

Wisconsin has committed a minor recruiting violation with respect to former NC State QB Russell Wilson. Basically, WR Nick Toon answered a reporter's question by saying Wilson is a good player and they hope he comes. Oops; commenting about a player that has not signed or committed is apparently a no-no. It sounds like they won't have to stop recruiting him because of the violation.

Can't blame him. I don't think Wisconsin has ever been in a recruiting situation before that required commenting. Noone seems to ask questions about the also-rans.
