Awesome, it would be great to see a mudslinging battle between Auburn and Bama.

The history Auburn and Alabama have with respect to infractions has much do with the intense, perpetual mudslinging between fans of the two schools. Very little that is questionable slides through unnoticed.

Apparently, Michael Floyd won't be missing any games for his DUI arrest. I guess ND only kicks kids off the team if they play sports other than football.

Unbelievable is the word that immediately came to my mind. It's not really the right word.

Floyd may yet miss games due to coach punishment (and I'd still be surprised if he didn't), the university just didn't suspend him - just to clarify.

Which is odd since ND had a precedent with prior student athletes.

easy there, boy. we probably shouldn't make statements we don't know to be true.

He won't be kicked off the team. I think that's true. And that's a real black mark against ND, as it is the only school to allow a player with a DUI to play football for them...

Notre Dame's Office of ResLife has a history of coming down hard on students in these situations. The student handbook says that if a student has a DUI and has at least one prior alcohol violation, that student must be separated from the university for at least one semester. It also mandates that the student submit to an alcohol assessment.

Floyd has two previous underage drinking citations from his time at home in Minnesota.

In 2008, former Notre Dame tight end and lacrosse player Will Yeatman transferred to Maryland following an arrest for underage drinking and resisting arrest. It came on the heels of a DUI arrest earlier in that same year.

The first arrest forced Yeatman to sit out for the entire 2008 lacrosse season. The second round of charges made Yeatman withdraw from the 2008 football season.

I'm not sure why you quoted your earlier post, since nothing in that wndu article speaks to what punishment he'll get from kelly (and the wndu article flies in the face of your comment that suggests that football players don't get punished). It appears true that reslife did not crack down on Floyd as they have others in the past. It's also true (and i'm sure you knew this, given how closely you've followed nd football recently) that reslife has been overhauled within the last 12 months b/c the last director (bill kirk, but again, you knew that) was a bit psycho and uneven in the punishments handed down.

if Floyd is an exception for the new reslife regime b/c he's a football player, that's bs. but if he's just the first football player to receive punishment from the new reslife and reslife is really going to be pulled from the dark ages and be a bit less harsh and more consistent, then great.

we don't know which it's going to be.

he should've been smart and just raped someone so the university could help him cover it up

if he's suspended by kelly it's only because he didn't hit someone while driving drunk. kelly's lust for blood is well known.

Yes, I too believe that Auburn and Alabama are 2 of the cleanest programs in the country.

I hear Auburn is also doing rather well in the Fullmer Cup this year:

doing rather well? It's called domination this year. three counts of armed robbery and one count of whatever the getaway man was charged with. I don't care to see a scholars bowl team on the field, but the armed robbery [expletive] is definitely embarrasing. I guess you missed this conversation a few pages ago?

Looks like Notre Dame dropped their demand for Northwestern to host a game at Soldier Field if a home and home was ever scheduled. Northwestern plays at Notre Dame in 2014 and Notre Dame comes to Evanston, hopefully to a renovated Ryan Field, in 2018.

This takes the place of a 2014/2015 home and home with Stanford.

Brilliant marketing move. They got a larger visitor's allotment than normal and since tickets in NU's allotment for road games is only available to season ticket holders and donors, they can move season tickets based on a road game. Won't be an easy schedule with Cal and Vandy also scheduled, though. Not to mention we get Ohio State and Wisconsin from the Leaders division that year.

Armed robbery would probably slide through the cracks at most schools. Damn you Tide

Thanks. I was trying to find a way to make fun of that.

you guys are weak. you've failed to mention that Chaz Ramsey intends to speak with the NCAA about the assertions he made on HBO. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6346924

When I come to this thread, I expect weaknesses to be picked apart, salt to be rubbed in wounds. Please don't disappoint. Show me something that is going to merit Auburn's national championship being vacated.

Ramsey had a career-ending back injury following the 2007 season and later filed suit against Auburn's then-head athletic trainer saying that an aggressive rehabilitation program worsened the problem. He lost the suit and is appealing, according to the News.

Ramsey still plans to graduate from Auburn but is currently home in Mississippi.

this kid will either need security detail or to transfer, and probably both.
