What needs to happen in order for Bears to face the Seahawks?

Packers win

Go Packers.

I changed my FB status to officially rooting Packers :)

All my Packer fan buddies immediately responded.

This is going to be kind of fun.

I look forward to Seattle winning tomorrow and all of "you people" coming to the dark side on Sunday.

Full credit to this man.

If Green Bay wins tomorrow the Seahawks win will be another stroke of good luck for the Bears. I really haven't seen a team have a stretch with such good luck in a long time. But I'm not complaining.

Now that we are within the 7 day window, what's the forecast looking like for Chicago next Sunday.

I fully believe that the db blitz from the SeaHoks will be an issue for us if we play them

please run Forte to the outside

That was pretty sweet yesterday.

The bears have been really good running on the outside since they got the line in order and began to run the ball more. Sweeps and those pitch counters.

I feel pretty good about the pack winning.

Well, I really don't want my players to be rooting for the Packers.

That just becomes bulletin board material for the Seahawks.

I want my players talking about how the Seahawks are really a great team in disguise, and how they've really improved, and how we know we'll have our hands full, yada yada yada.

To their credit the only reason they claim to want Seattle is because they beat us and they want a chance to avenge it. But yeah it would definitely be bulletin board material and I wish they said all the right things that you mentioned.

Seahawks it is. What do you think the line will be? My very uneducated guess is something like Bears -6.

The Seahawks game pissed me off this season. The offense was very mediocre as we only scored 13 offensive points to the 4th worst defense in the NFL (the other 7 points were on a Hester return in almost garbage time when we were down 10 with under 2 minutes left). But the defense pissed me off more than the offense in that game, which is the only thing that worries me about this game. I remember the Seahawks kept stringing together first down after first down on short gains, I think using checkdowns and screens. The tackling was bad. They dominated the TOP for the game 34-25.

I think we'll see a similar type of game plan this week, with the Seahawks taking what the Bears give them and hoping no mistakes are made. In the first matchup, neither team committed a turnover, which worked out for the Seahawks well in extending their drives and controlling the TOP.

Given the fact that we lost to Seattle in Chicago earlier this year, I do not think there's any chance the Bears underestimate the Seahawks. In fact, I am now very happy that we lost that game, all things considered.

My early prediction is that this game will be a lot closer than we hope for, with the Bears special teams leading the way to a victory. I'll say 24-20 Bears.

The Fox guys are all saying Seattle caught lightning in the bottle yesterday and there is no way they can beat Chicago. It kind of sucks that we can't play the underdog role in this one. We will be the heavy favorite with all the pressure on us. How will we respond?

Also, given the way the season has gone, I fully expect Hasselbeck to get injured during the week and Whitehurst starting. Lynch as well. Also, an accident at Soldier field will force the game to be played at Wrigley Field, with Seattle for some reason having to drive towards the OF wall all game.

I said I would root for the Packers, but I was pretty indifferent watching the game. I wasn't actively rooting for anyone, but I would say I wanted Philly to win more. Didn't really fear the Eagles either way.

I agree with all of this. There's really no reason for Seattle to change anything they did last time. Especially, after the Packers had some success doing some of the same things Seattle did against the Bears (blitzing DBs). Seahawks sacked Cutler 6 times, 4.5 of those from DBs and another from an OLB. They are going to bring the house again.

Unlike last time though: the Bears can run the ball now and will have Briggs. I'd like to think that this is going to be like the Seahawks last 5 road games and the Bears win by at least 2 TDs, but I agree it's going to be tougher than expected.

This is where Julius Peppers needs to earn his money. Need to get to Hasselbeck with the front 4. Leaving 7 to get some turnovers. On offense, quick hitters are going to be there. And the big play will be available, just as it was in the 1st game. Bears had 6 plays over 20 yards, along with a 58 yard PI penalty.

The is the best of all worlds for the Bears.

But...I'm sure the Saints were saying the same thing.

Come to play, and everything will be fine. Walk on the field thinking you can sleepwalk to a win, and you'll be finding yourself making offseason plans earlier than you figured.

The gap between good & mediocre in this league is just too small for any team to not bring a full effort.

The Hawks don't scare me, but the idea that the Bears might not give their best effort DOES.

NFC championship:

vs. GB or at ATL?

A home game is the ideal situation, but I think Atlanta is more beatable, despite their overall and home record. Doesn't matter though. I'll feel confident in the Bears chances either way, if they get there by beating the Seahawks convincingly.

Seems like that horseshoe is still wedged firmly up Lovie's butt, can't complain. Really no excuse to lose this one, even considering the early season loss, the offensive line is worlds better and with Briggs we wont be giving up 41 points like the Saints.

I hope we see a repeat of the Minnesota games, but we'll probably see a repeat of the Lions games. I'll take it either way.

As long as it's not a repeat of the Seattle game.

Or the New England game.
