They are saying on ESPN that the Bulls aren't a legit title team. Why? They aren't a favorite but I wouldn't consider it to be a great shock if they did.

They focused on Rose's turnovers more than the positives as well last night. Keep on protecting your product in Miami, ESPN.

After 53 games, we're 2 games behind Boston and Miami and we've been without one of Boozer or Noah for 44 of those 53 games. I really don't understand why the Bulls aren't getting national attention, especially considering we have an MVP contender as well. Just imagine if the Knicks were 37-16.

Well I won't lie, he had some pretty bad TOs last night and shot poorly and was again perplexed by the trap.

That said, he made up for it by setting his teammates up for easy shots, and getting to the line. All and all a meh game, but its not shocking that people would harp on those TOs

the less hype surrounding the bulls going into the playoffs, the better. i hope the bulls continue to get little respect. i think guys like rose and noah will thrive on that when the postseason starts.

I'm OK with the lack of respect. There's a big difference between winning regular season games and winning in the playoffs.

That said, yeah, I wouldn't be shocked to see them beat Boston or Miami. Defense translates well into the playoffs, and the Bulls do that pretty well.

The Bulls going to the finals doesn't fit into ESPN's pre-written narrative involving either the hometown team (Boston) or the predestined champions on the universe (Miami)

Or the chippy underdog with the exciting young players and the budding superstar (Chicago).

Barkley sure does love the Bulls

Charles Barkley continues to lather praise on the Bulls.

During a taping of "The Jay Leno Show," on Wednesday, the outspoken TNT analyst predicted they could be better than the Celtics or Heat -- after Joakim Noah returns from injury.

"The Chicago Bulls, if they get everybody healthy, might be the best team in the East," Barkley told Leno.

Thursday night, without Noah, the Bulls play host to the best team in the West -- the Spurs -- in one of the most intriguing United Center matchups of the year.

They were talking about the Eastern Conference on Mike and Mike a couple days ago, and Golic was saying there are only 2 or 3 teams that have a chance. He then went on to name the Celtics, Heat, Magic, and Hawks. No mention of the Bulls. Greenberg chimed in with something like "How about the Bulls", and Golic pretty much dismissed them altogether. His reasoning was something dumb, like "They just aren't ready yet". That is an awful show.

Yeah they are awful. The only part of that show I like is when Golic talks about things inside the players perspective. Besides that it is worthless.

I'm not really sure why everybody seems to have the opinion that we're a young team. Rose and Noah are young, but basically all of our other key contributors have been around for a few years.

I just have a problem with the lack of respect because everybody knows that if the Knicks were 37-16, they'd be lumped into the contender category in the East. Through 53 games, we're 2.5 games out of first place. Yet somehow, we don't have a chance even though we've shown we're just about as good as the two teams in front of us.

Bill Simmons did his yearly top 50 players by trade value list:

30. Chris Bosh

29. Carlos Boozer

28. Kevin Garnett

Garnett gets the edge because he's the best defender (by far); because he has the most palatable contract ($40 million total this year and next, compared to $70 million through 2014 for Boozer and $109 million for Bosh); because he never once had an affair with someone who eventually won the unofficial "lunatic of the year award" on "The Bachelor" (like Boozer did with Michelle Money, this season's villain and someone my wife described as "someone who may have killed before, and definitely may kill again"); because he's played in more than 13 career NBA playoff games and a couple of NIT games (unlike Bosh); because he's the only one with a ring; and because he's the heart and soul of the Celtics (neither Bosh or Boozer can say the same about their respective teams).

Of course, you can't mention Kevin Garnett in a sports column anymore without mentioning how much everyone hates Kevin Garnett. Since joining the Celtics, he's slowly morphed into the least-liked superstar in the league, this generation's version of Rick Barry or Isiah Thomas. That's been devastating for me for two reasons: He plays for my favorite team, and more importantly, that Barry/Isiah spot was supposed to go to Kobe. How did this thing flip so fast? Every day, I get at least one e-mail from a reader wondering, "How can you root for Kevin Garnett?"

21. Joakim Noah

I can't believe we're not in the top 20 yet. Did you see the past seven guys we rolled off? By the way, every writer with an MVP ballot who thought Chicago should trade Noah and Luol Deng for Carmelo Anthony should have that ballot taken away. Promptly. Like, right now.

4. Derrick Rose

I still have him as the MVP. If you disagree, go look at the standings, try to find me 10 games in which Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah played together, then watch Keith Bogans play for 10 minutes. Derrick Rose did more for that team through the first 50 games than anyone else did for their team; doesn't make him the best player, just the most valuable. At least so far. Of course, we can't sleep on this scenario, courtesy of Tim in Troy:

"I think we could have a Hakeem Olajuwon/David Robinson situation brewing with the 2011 MVP: What if Rose gets presented with the trophy in front of LeBron before a Bulls-Heat Round 2 playoff game? I picture a standard LeBron Eff You game (40, 10 and 10, five mean dunks, sits for the fourth quarter) making Hakeem's shakedown of The Admiral look like a birthday present."

Great call. Yet here's the difference between Rose and Robinson: Rose would get ticked off by the Eff You performance, try to match it … and then it would be on like Donkey Kong. Have I mentioned how excited I am for the 2011 playoffs? I've mentioned that, right? We're definitely getting Boston-Chicago, Boston-Miami or Chicago-Miami in Round 2. Round 2!!!! Any one of those three matchups will be old-school, '80s-style, no-handshaking bloodbaths. I can't wait for the refs to get overprotective and screw it up.

I pray to god that the bulls and celtics meet (healthy) in the playoffs. What an epic that would be.

It used to be better.

Now it's Greenberg playing his whole "metrosexual" schtick to the hilt, and Golic's incessant, tedious muscle-head tirades.

And I noticed they've added these extremely annoying live ads where they comp on a product like Regus Offices for 5 minutes........with music playing in the background.

Ugh.

It's gone from a decent morning sports show to ponderous and ridiculous drivel.
