How is that the first time Rose got 40? I was watching last night and he put up 11 in the first and as he got his 10th point in the 2nd quarter, I thought to myself, "he's going to put up 40 tonight". I can't believe it was the first time he actually did it though.

I think with the valuable time Thomas and Asik have gotten over the last 2 months, the Bulls can be aggressive in the next week in the trade market. I think they can afford to give up Taj if that's what it takes to add a SG to the rotation. Even if they give up a draft pick, I think they can find another PF for the rotation next year if necessary.

I hear ya. Feels like Rose would have had a couple of 40 points games under his belt. I think the fact that he was averaging 25PPG without any scoring explotions like that shows how consistent he is in his scoring.

He he's had probably 3-4 games in his career where he's gotten either 38 or 39 points. There was a game earlier this year where he missed a FT with under 30 seconds left that would have given him 40. I remember being really annoyed.

And the Bulls become the first NBA team to defeat every team in the Western Conference.

To expound on this, the Bulls are going to be the only team to defeat every team in the Western Conference. Boston, Atlanta and Miami were swept by Dallas, Orlando was swept by Utah, and everybody else in the East is terrible.

Well, the only team in the East to do it at least.

Perfect time to take that poll after possibly the best game of his career against the best team in the league on national TV with no other games competing against it during a period where attention in the league spikes with the ASG.

Well, technically that was what I was indicating by qualifying "every" team in the West. No West team has beaten every East team yet, either (Spurs haven't beaten Celts/Heat, Lakers haven't beaten Heat/Magic/Hawks, OKC hasn't beaten Heat/Raptors).

No team in the West can EVER beat every team in the West. Because a team in the West cannot beat itself.

I love your "Beat every team watch" bukie, so I decided to see how common this was to occur. It seems like about 1-2 teams do it every year, which is pretty rare air.

09-10: Mavericks, Magic

08-09: No one

07-08: Jazz

06-07: Rockets, Suns

05-06: Mavericks

04-05: Spurs, Suns, Mavericks

Then I went back to see how the Bulls did in the dynasty era:

98: 0-2 vs. Jazz

97: Beat every team

96: Beat every team

94: 0-2 vs. Blazers (this was the first year of Jordan's 1st retirement and no title won)

93: 0-2 vs. Spurs, Lakers, Rockets

92: Beat every team

91: 0-2 vs. Spurs, Blazers, Rockets

Didn't recall this.

I think that was a major reason for people actually thinking the Jazz had a shot in that Finals.

Bulls are rumored to be looking at Anthony Parker. Dude is old and not very good. No thanks.

If it was for like james johnson or something i'd take him. I believe he's an expiring so it would be good for cap space.

As for being able to beat every team this year, there are only 5 teams capable of doing it. Here's who they need to beat (# of chances in parentheses):

Bulls - Knicks(1), Hawks(3)

Spurs - Celtics(1), Heat(2)

Thunder - Heat(1), Spurs(1), Raptors(1 - yes, they are 0-1 against the Raptors), Lakers(2), Clippers(3)

Lakers - Bobcats(1), Heat(1), Magic(1), Hawks(2), Mavs(2), Spurs(2)

Hornets - Bulls(1), Pacers(1), Lakers(1), Timberwolves(1 - yes, they are 0-2 against the Wolves), Knicks(1), Suns(3)

What this says to me mostly is that Miami still has to play a lot of good teams in their last 30 games. :)

I think he'd be a good fit.

I don't think he's much better than Bogans. No reason to give up anything of value for SG depth.

What's our chances of getting a 1 or 2 seed?

We're only 2 games out, so I'd say very good

Playing Miami twice in the next 2 weeks is going to be huge. If we go 0-2 in those games you can probably say goodbye to the top seed.

I have them finishing up 22-6, which would give them 60 wins, which would be absolutely incredible considering the injuries. That projection is probably a little too optimistic though, and I think 20-8 would be more realistic considering we have to play atlanta 3 times (2 on the road), Orlando twice (both on the road), Miami twice (1 on the road), Boston once, and the Knicks once (road). Outside of those 6 road games though, the rest of the road schedule looks easy and I have a ton of confidence in our ability at home.

What's our chances of getting a 1 or 2 seed?

According to predictive statistics:

Hollinger's Playoff Odds: Head 60-22, Celtics 58-24, Bulls 57-25, Magic 53-29

BBP's POW ratings: Celtics 58-24 (58.4), Heat 58-24 (58.1), Bulls 57-25 (56.7), Magic 54-28 (54.2)

Personally, I see the Bulls finishing with 56-57 wins, so then getting a 1 or 2 seed hinges on one of the other two teams coasting to the finish a bit. I don't think the Celtics are too concerned about seeding, as they won last year as a 4, and all of the top 4 in the East is clearly a step above.

I know I'm about 5 steps ahead of myself, but now that I have My Cubs @ Red Sox tickets, the Eastern conference finals should line up with the same time frame. Bulls @ Celtics anyone?

I believe it actually was the big reason the Jazz had home court that year in the finals as well, at least that's what they told me on NB2K11 when I was unlocking Michael's last dance.
