The Knicks losing probably hurts us more than anything (yes, I'm living in the pipe dream that we can catch Boston) but I'm really glad the Celtics won. I've never really had the hatred of the Knicks like some. I wasn't that big of a fan during the Jordan years and the Knicks have sucked the last 10 years or so but now I can't stand them for some reason.

i think there's a better chance of the knicks getting melo and finishing ahead of us than there is of us catching boston

Definitely something. I can't stand that clown and I like seeing the Knicks at least being decent again.

Yao Ming has a stress fracture in his foot. Congrats on if you took the over on how many games he would play this season.

that's probably it for his career

Nah, he'll be right as rain once he gets one of those adamantium treatments.

Per Rotoworld:

There are conflicting reports regarding the imminence of a potential trade sending Gilbert Arenas to the the Magic, but at least one has said the deal is done and that he will debut on Monday against the Hawks.

One other report says the deal is not "imminent," but all of the reports suggest that the sides are serious and by all appearances this trade is going down. Early reports suggested that Vince Carter and Marcin Gortat would be headed to the Wizards, but a recent report has Rashard Lewis possibly being the key piece with another trade involving the former pair in the works. Stay tuned.

It seems the magic have completed a deal for gilbert arenas. While that may sound bad for us at first it appears they have given up pieces that seem to be more valuable than Arenas. I guess they could be hoping for a change of scenery but he has a huge contract and is a bit of a wild card.

Huge trading day for the Magic.

First they swapped Arenas for Rashard Lewis, a deal I like quite a bit. While Arenas can be a headache, he is a superior player to Lewis and is 3 years younger as well. Lewis has began declining pretty sharply over the past two seasons, although Arenas hasn't played a full season since 06-07 and is quite injury prone. It's a wonderful trade if he stays healthy, but that's a big "if".

The 2nd trade saw Vince Carter, Gortat, Pietrus, a future 1st-round pick and cash to the Suns for Jason Richardson, Turkoglu and second-year player Earl Clark, who I believe will backup Dwight at center.

I'm not sure yet if I like the second trade. Carter is obviously old and declining, but so is Turkoglu. He did, however, seem to mesh well with this style of offense so there's that hopefully. I'm a fan of Jason Richardson so I like that a lot, and I've soured on Gortat quite a bit anyway. Pietrus can't do anything but shoot threes so that's whatever. I'm not sure if this Clark guy is capable of holding his own if Dwight gets into foul trouble but we'll see. I am, however, a little upset about having to give up the 1st-rounder.

If nothing else we got somewhat younger going from Arenas to Lewis and Carter to Turkoglu.

Not a bad starting five. Can't wait to see how this works.

The Richardson trade is a good one. I'm really surprised you like the Arenas trade; I guess he'll be a good citizen playing for a good team.

Hinrich had a few turnovers down the stretch, missed a big free throw and missed the potential game-winner. I don't miss that guy at all.

he got hammered by 2 guys on the final lay up and got no call

Whoops. Yeah, I was only gamecasting it so I had no idea that happened.

Still, he had two turnovers in the final 1:30 and I figured he was going to split the FT's that he had with around 15 seconds left.

Howard's going to need to grab 30 boards a game.
