The Record of New Jersey quoted an unnamed team official within the league as saying: "The deal is close. But Denver is looking to hit a home run." Earlier Sunday, one source close to the talks told ESPN.com that Sunday's proposed trade was "on the 10-yard-line." Said another source with knowledge of the state of negotiations: "Almost there."

They are talking about an NBA trade, whats with the baseball, football, track (reach) references?

The Lakers are beating the Cavs 74-27 early in the third quarter.

EDIT: Now up by 50.

It would take a very good defensive effort but the Bulls record for fewest points scored in a game post shot clock is somewhat in jeopardy. The Bulls scored 49 in a game in 99.

omg lebron is such a dick haha

His latest tweet is astonishing

Just to make it easier for everyone. I know it's easy to say now, but seeing what I've seen from him in the last six months, he would have been incredibly hard to root for if he had come to Chicago.

Sure it would have been when you're winning 60 games every year and in the NBA Finals about every year.

* Anyway, a lot of people are complaining that the Cavs haven’t done enough to improve the roster, but I think they are going about things wisely. Remember, the 1993-94 Chicago Bulls won 57 games the year after Michael Jordan left to play baseball. Jordan’s replacement that season? Uh, Pete Myers.

* Granted, those Bulls still had Hall-of-Famer Scottie Pippen, but I'm convinced some of these Cavs will really take it up notch with their newfound chance to shine. Hickson is one player, in particular, for whom we can have high hopes. He has a ways to go, but the talent is there. A lot of it will come down to whether or not he can finally hold onto the ball

I remember the rumors that Cleveland "protected" Lebron from alot of things. I think we're seeing those "rumors" were basically true and he's a jackass that just doesn't get "it" whatsoever and it's came to light now that he's basically got free reign to do and say whatever he wants in Miami.

It's true. He's such an idiot. His quote today was talking about "I don't care about booing anymore, I embrace being a villian now" was complete BS. That's complete playground psychology. "If I embrace what they are doing they will stop doing it." Face it LeBron you are a doucebag villian for the rest of your career and there's nothing you can do about it!

I actually feel sorry for Cleveland ... am I going soft?

Who is even projected at #1 this year out of College? Seems like a weak year compared to the last couple.

Also I have never been convinced that the lottery wasn't rigged the year Cleveland won it so they could draft Lebron.

Looks like Kyrie Irving and Perry Jones are at the top depending on who you ask. Not a very inspiring class, for sure.

Even in this weak draft, Sullinger shouldn't go top 3.

ouch

* Without Scott, I would predict that this team would win 35 games. But again, I honestly believe the coach is worth 10-15 more wins all by himself.

Well, they're on pace to win about 17 games and he predicted high 40s

Don't forget about Sullinger either. It's still a really weak class, though.

Sean May II?

i think he's more elton brand II than sean may II

I don't see the explosiveness from Sullinger that I did from Brand. He reminds me so much of May.
