Not sure what you wrote makes what I wrote false. Favre didn't do anything to GB that he hasn't done to every other fan base. He kind of screwed over the Jets in that he retired to get out from under their control then came back to Minnesota. But they were happy to see him go much the way GB fans should be happy that he hasn't been their QB for 3 years.

I don't necessarily find the fact that Packers fans hate Favre now funny. I find the fact that Packers fans* rip on the same exact same Brett Favre behaviors that fans of other teams have loathed for years. Meanwhile, Vikings fans* for the most part now love to see him dance around the field with his hand in the air and a [expletive] eating grin on his face as he throws a TD to put his team up 35-10.

*not every fan exhibits these behaviors but a large majority do. I clearly know they are out there, but I havent yet met a Vikings fan that can't stand that Favre is on his favorite team, nor have I met a Packers fan who hasn't disowned Favre.

I love how Packers fans just loathe Favre now. Makes me laugh.

It happens. If it would have been Sandberg or Sosa or someone who did the same thing that Favre did only to end up in St. Louis just to stick it to us, Cubs fans would have felt the same way.

What did Favre do? GB wanted him to retire, right?

False.

When Favre initially started having second thoughts about coming back, McCarthy and Thompson immediately got on a plane to fly to Mississippi to meet with him. IIRC, this was a week before the draft in 2008. Favre told both of them that he was officially done when they were out there and that was that. We drafted Flynn and Brohm (lol) and the rest was history. We only wanted him to retire after it was evident that he wanted to come back in July of that year because we moved on and there was no chance of him coming back to us. I remember at the time, most Packers fans (including myself) were absolutely irate that they were choosing to go the other way and not back to Favre.

The first year when he was with the Jets, I think he still had a somewhat high approval rating in Green Bay. It wasn't until the following offseason where the hate came in when it was evident that he wanted to go to Minnesota all along just to stick it to the entire organization.

When he finally retires for good, I think most Packers fans will embrace him again and elect to forget about the final three years of his career, as long as he doesn't win anything with Minnesota this season.

Pretty much this.

I didn't hold anything against him when he was in New York. In fact, I even rooted for him. It was only until he went to Minnesota to stick it to us that he got on my bad side.

You're right. I forgot about him. I enjoyed reading his rant last week about Favre.

So all of this happened from Thursday-Sunday:

-Refused to speak to the media once again and was supposedly dogging everything in practice.

-Yelled at teammates in a meeting and warned them to not speak about him or anything he says to the media.

-Berated the caterers for no real reason other than to be a dick.

-Took his laziness to another level during the game (re-watched the shortcut on DirecTV last night) and let a possible TD fall without making any effort.

-Blamed the coaches and players for not listening to him well enough about what the Patriots were going to do. Only other mention of the team was saying they should have gone for a field goal on 4th and goal from the 1.

-Waxed poetic about how great the Patriots were and how he missed them and loved them, only saying "no disrespect to the Vikings but.."

-Said he was staying out east until Wednesday morning.

Damn. Randy has always been weird and moody but he went from Mr. Positive team guy two weeks ago against the Cowboys to a nutjob looking like he was trying to get cut.

The thing I noticed about the lazy could have been TD replays is that one angle make it look absolutely horrible, and blatantly didn't try to catch an easy TD, but then the other angle makes it look like he was stumbling and lost track of the ball until he realized too late he was past it.

That was my initial reaction during the game and it seemed to be the only possible explanation. I don't think so though.

If you watch the cut ups of only his plays Sunday, he jogged every route. Everyone knows his deal but I don't know if he ran one route at even 85%.

We didn't want Favre to retire at all, originally. I think practically begging him to come back basically defeats that point.

And UMFan is dead on about his mannerisms. I didn't even realize I was making fun of them until earlier this season and of course, I never really mentioned that when he was throwing TD's with us.

I wonder who the Vikings players hate more: Moss or Favre?

Favre isn't hated by the players. I'm sure some of them resent some of his stuff, but he's been popular in the locker room. It sounds like there's a split on Moss.

Childress or Moss would be a better question. Their effort this weekend will be telling and I'm sure it's what Zygi is waiting to see.

Not much danger of that happening.

You don't think Favre's antics have been taken to a totally different level ever since he left Green Bay?

I'm talking about the entire Brett Favre experience. He has become a much bigger media and attention whore with each passing year.

The media keeps making it a bigger story, but I don't think he's anymore an attention whore than his last few years with Green Bay.

The two have a symbiotic relationship.

I forgot about this earlier but watching the KC/BUF game, aside from being ugly, reinforced the notion that Gus Johnson's forced enthusiasm is not nearly as endearing as most people insist it is. Randomly screaming at non-exciting plays gets old, and takes away from when his genuine enthusiasm.

Odd, I found that the only appealing thing about being stuck watching KC/BUF. I also don't think his enthusiasm is forced; I think he's just always got a chubby when watching sports.

He was screaming at random nothing plays, and he would just go from normal voice to scream to normal voice. It seemed really forced at times. It's jarring when it runs counter to what is actually happening. I know I'm in the minority but I just don't get the over the top love for his over the top emotion. He's better than most announcers out there, but he's still making the same stupid mistakes and missing obvious stuff, just not as bad as some of the hacks. I don't have a problem with him overall, I just don't get the love.

Oh yeah, and has anybody actually spotted any blood from that Favre hit? You don't take 12 stitches to the chin without a ton of blood spewing, and I didn't see any. Neither has anybody else I asked.
