Just read that Mario Manningham has a concussion and probably won't play Sunday.

For us, hopefully Peppers, Briggs, Chris Harris and whoever else got banged up Monday are ready to go. I know Wright is likely to be out again, but any word on when we can expect Chris Williams back?

Good chance Williams is back for Sunday night.

From Tom Coughlin's press conference today....

Q: Any advice for your rookie punter against Devin Hester this week?

A: Kick it out of bounds. Don't let him have the ball.

This is exactly what I predicted as soon as Hester had the long return and the TD last week. This is really going to help the Bears' field position. Put him in on kickoffs now too.

Zach Zaidman talked to Aromoshadu today. Devin said that he has no idea why he is not playing. I like the guy because Jay likes him and Jay could use a big receiver. But if Aromoshadu wants to be anything in the NFL, he has to go to Martz immediately to figure out what he needs to do to get playing time. It has been a week and a half and the guy is still waiting? This is in addition to the fact that Martz publicly said that Devin has to be able to learn the slot and wide out positions. How did this not get around to the guy?

Dear Devin:

You're not helping.

"It sends a little bit of a message, but we don't want to put too much pressure on ourselves because when you're walking on egg shells you really can't play well," Aromashodu said. "You still have to just be loose and do your thing.

"I mean, you're not going to be perfect every play, that's something they have to understand. I mean, as coaches, they're not going to make the right call every play, so we just have to learn from our mistakes and try to do our best."

Aromashodu said he has not talked to the coaches specifically about his disappearing act.

"I feel comfortable with whatever it is I have to say," he said. "I know what lines to cross and what not to cross.

"I just have to keep working and eventually I'll get my chance like last year."

The Giants are really worried about Hester...

"He’s one of those guys, man, he’s like water," said linebacker Clint Sintim, who is part of the punt coverage team. "He’ll find the crease. You’ve just got to do your best to try to hold him back a little bit. You’ve got to be extra aware of where he’s at.

"He can’t harm you if he don’t have the ball. God forbid that he gets it, we’ve got to make some tackles. We’ve got to do our best to contain him and minimize his impact."

Perhaps it would be best if he doesn't start right away.

He apparently doesn't know what he thinks he knows.

I'm always amazed when I see stories about coaches and players not talking to eachother, like Harris and Aromashodu in this case claiming they have no idea why they aren't active. How hard is it to go into a coaches office and ask what you can do to get back on the field? What can I do to improve? etc.

Maybe they try and the coaches blow them off. I don't know. Seems like this happens pretty frequently though (not just in football).

If he was going to pick a good time to return his first punt for a TD in 2 years, on Monday Night Football was perfect.

Even then I'm not sure what players expect to hear. These guys aren't going to admit their weaknesses, so if a coach tells them what they have failed to do, that player isn't going to relay it to the media unless he can translate it into a way to cause a rift that results in him becoming a free agent. If you are a WR in a group of 5 WR and you get skipped over for a game or two, the reason is most likely the coaches think the other WR are better than you. What sort of explanation do you need?

Baltimore cut DE Trevor Pryce. Any interest?

EDIT: Apparently they're likely to pick him back up next week.

Apparently he signed with the Jets.

I'm sitting at the bar Monday with a Charger fan and a Steeler fan. The Steeler fan says Hester is no longer a factor on punt returns and that he has sucked for the last two years. I believe ESPN actually showed some sort of graphic that stated something that backed up his claim, although I'm not sure what it actually was. Probably punt return yardage.

Anyway, I say that he is absolutely still a threat and that teams have been way more cautious when kicking to him because of how much of a threat he was to break one. While he has gotten a bit too cocky for my liking since his string of TD's, and he has been running some poor routes and making bad decisions that costed the team yardage, he is and always has been a threat. Teams kick away from him and make poor kicks attempting to keep him from running one back.

Sure enough, a quarter or two later, gone. It sure was fun rubbing his nose (Pittsburgh idiot) in it. Even though Hester hasn't been running back kicks as effectively as he did a few years back, he still helps the team get excellent field position. Monday night should continue that trend.

But the thing is, he wasn't even really gettin the team good field position the last couple of years. I think he was either average or slightly below average in punt return yardage the last 2 seasons.

Peter King has the Bears winning by 11.

Only 3 of 8 ESPN guys have the Bears winning. Accuscore has Giants. ESPN Pick em has Bears.

I think the Lions was the only game that Accuscore picked the Bears on.

I expected the experts to side slightly more in favor of the Bears. The 2 main reasons why their thinking that way is:

1) The Giants looked horrible last week but they aren't THIS horrible of a team. The experts cannot see them falling to 1-3

2) The Bears are a surprise 3-0 but haven't dominated anyone and are due for a loss. The Bears have an easy schedule ahead and no expert thinks the Bears can start off 7-0 because they aren't a 7-0 caliber team. Therefore a desperate Giants team on the road should take them in the experts mind.

Even the announcers said at some point in the first half that Hester had become a "mediocre" punt returner. I laughed at that and let everyone around me know that they were idiots. Thank you Devin for making me look smart for once. :)

Aromoshadu said that "coaches make mistakes too" today. That was probably the worst thing he could have said today to help his situation. The guy has some potential, is tall, and Jay likes to throw him, but he has to just shut up, learn what Martz wants him to learn, and shut up some more.

Tommie Harris has been grabbing some bench too.

I think Lovie & crew have been incredibly consistent. They aren't picking on anyone. They either see what they want to see, or they look for someone else to do the job.

I find it interesting that people in general will complain when a coaching staff *doesn't* make changes. They're arrogant. Obstinate. Won't make adjustments.

Then a coaching staff decides to follow through and make changes where they feel they are necessary. What happens? People complain.

I think the real lesson here is: people will find whatever reason they can to complain, because they like complaining.

Lovie and crew are in job saving mode. They don't care about the long-term effects of today's moves on the team. I think a couple years ago you would not have seen the team's leading WR benched the next 2 games, the former pro-bowl DT inactivated without being injured, or the team's INT leader on the sidelines for missing a tackle.

Refreshing and long overdue.

So you're saying it took real job pressure for them to start........doing their jobs.

I don't think he said that in terms of he being benched was a mistake byt he coaches. I think he was saying that if he did make mistakes, that the coaching staff should be understanding as they are human too.
