Those stats are nice but how many runs does he drive in with his glove?

Well this will be his 2nd full season at 1B... and last year was a big improvement over his 2009 season at 1B, but still was below average (not too bad though)... If he can improve again this year, I can him being just average or just barely below average.... Plus even if he sucked at 1B defensively, his bat outweighs his glove by a mile... I'm not sure if I would want to give him 15 mil/yr though (unless it's like 2 yrs only). I rather pay A Gonz another 5 mil/yr (20 mil/yr if that would get him) instead...

which is fine, but WTF is Ricketts doing...during Wrigley into Disneyland...a place where you MUST see a game..

vs. creating a winning product....

I cant stand the Cubs direction...the organization is a joke yet again...

Adam Dunn to the White Sox (4 yrs, $56 million) has been confirmed. The signing will be official tomorrow when Dunn takes his physical.

Additionally, SI's Jon Heyman has heard today that the Sox still want Paul Konerko back, according to his Twitter feed. Heyman also tweeted that rumors have been running rampant today about Konerko possibly heading to the North side, and signing with the Cubs. Sources question that, though, since Konerko is one of Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf's favorite players.

Paul Konerko? lol

One year stop gag till Adrian and who cares.

For one he's righty. For another, it won't be for a year. There was a report the orioles offered him a "significant offer" yesterday.

4 years at 14 million is steep in length and dollars. I can't say that I'm upset that the Cubs didn't give him that contract, but I sure hope they have something worthwhile in the pipe for 1B.

Heyman is now saying he can't see Konerko going to the D'Backs or Cubs, and he was offered a contract by the Orioles recently. White Sox can still fit him into their budget too, apparently. Heyman tweets that Lance Berkman and Carlos Pena are likelier options for the Cubs, with Pena planning on meeting with Cubs people at next week's winter meetings.

I'm not sure how $14m is steep in price.

I don't really trust the metrics for 1B, but Dunn is 31 and needs to keep hitting at the same rate at age 31-34 plus be at least an average 1B for that to be a worthwhile deal. He's far from a slam dunk to be worth that dollar amount.

add up all the money we waste on [expletive] and $14m for Dunn is a steal.

It's steep if the owner doesn't have any money.

If buying the Cubs took all of his money, maybe they weren't the right choice. I doubt, had baseball approved Cuban, we would be in this same boat.
