That Nate Davis bomb to Ted Ginn that traveled 65 yards in the air was pretty sweet to see.

I think Ted Ginn crapped his pants that he actually caught the ball

an announcer just called Todd Heap "A little long in the tooth". I feel old.

I feel ya. I'm 29 and would be considered almost past my prime for professional sports. That's just not right!

My birthday is a couple months off from Kerry Wood, so he's been my measure for quite a while now in that regard.

AJ Burnett is white, rich me -- from my hometown, with my birthday. So he's my measure.

He loves it so much that he has his own personal locker room apart from the other guys.

False

I was going to say, I thought he only did that in New York.

That's what I meant.

the preseason is so bizarre for me, because we spend so long with no football, that i hear chris collinsworth's voice and im like "YES CHRIS COLLINSWORTH, SWEET" even though i frigging hate him

I hate preseason football way more than Cris Collinsworth. I actually kind of like him

He distanced himself from everyone on Green Bay near the end of his run as well. Jennings and Driver were really the only guys he was cool with.

You could do worse than Collinsworth. I'd take him over the #1 analysts on the other networks.

First team Titans offense played well tonight. Nate Washington had a big catch, which was nice, and Vince sounded (was listening on the radio) pretty accurate. The Titan defense also completely shut down the Cardinals, though they were without Fitzgerald.

Raisin,

Thought you might be interested that talk is incrementally rising about Alterraun Verner having a real shot at winning the #2 cornerback job across from Finnegan. Apparently he's outplaying Jason McCourty and Ryan Mouton so far.

If Collinsworth and Joe Buck ever become a broadcast team, I will murder everyone within a 15 mile radius of me.

Happy to see him doing well. Hopefully he has a great season.

Yeah, I'm really pulling hard for Vince. Seems like a really good guy and he's really been working hard the past couple of seasons. He has the potential to be a big time playmaker if he can just get a little more consistent.

Collinsworth has grown on me a ton the past couple seasons. I'm not sure if that's credit to the quality of his work or how bad his competition is.

Word on the street is Sidney Rice was spotted in Denver getting season-ending hip surgery.

Wow, if that's true the Vikings could be really hurting at wide out. Who knows how Harvin's health is going to be and Javon Walker/Bernard Berrian no longer worry me in the least.

Sounds like the more likely timeline is the first half of the season but that's when the schedule is toughest. He and Rosenhaus screwed up this entire situation. Doctors told him it would probably be best if he had the surgery this summer so he could be full speed at the beginning of the year. They decided on their own that it wasn't that bad and would heal on it's own with rehab. So now he's been on the PUP list and hasn't practiced yet.

Yeah, I'm not too surprised at ATV's early success though I'm quite pleased.

Young has a .667 winning percentage as a starter. But I just can't stand his awful throwing motion. No one wins a Super Bowl unless they can become a pocket passer.

I don't really have a problem with his motion. His problem is more decision making than physical issues. That's why I'm glad that he's been making the correct reads most of the time this preseason, it's a positive step for the weakest part of his game.

And he really hasn't been that good as a starter so far. The QB record/winning % (an overrated stat, honestly) is deceiving because he's been on so many good Titans teams. The only team you can really say he played a big part in improving is the second half of last year and even that was largely because the secondary decided to cover people.

That said, Vince can definitely become a good to very good quarterback if he can improve his decision making. The throwing motion isn't that big a deal because he's shown he can make all the throws. I think he can continue to improve his decision making, but that'll be the key.

I'm excited about Verner playing well. I've not been real impressed by the Mouton/McCourty duo and Tye Hill is interesting but probably no more than a solid 3rd or 4th corner.
