Will we get the helicopter footage this time? Brett is on his way back to Minny. I'm reeling from the pure shock and surprise of it all.

LeGarrette Blount punched another player yesterday, this time a teammate.

Titans running back LeGarrette Blount punched a teammate in the facemask on the final play of practice Wednesday night, and was quick to apologize to Coach Jeff Fisher for losing his cool. Blount was the ballcarrier when his helmet was knocked off and several defensive players shoved him. When defensive end Eric Bakhtiari got in his face, Blount punched him in a manner that was eerily similar to last year's infamous poke. Bakhtiari was wearing a helmet.

"I am not disappointed whatsoever,'' Fisher said. "His past is his past. Is that the first punch you've seen at camp this year? No. OK. I am not disappointed whatsoever. I have great confidence in the young man that he has learned from his mistake and is very competitive.''

I really hope Blount makes the team as the goal line/short yardage back. It'll really help lengthen CJs career.

Favre doesn't trust Childress:

http://news.lalate.com/2010/08/19/brett-favre-and-brad-childress-disagreement-on-offense-report/

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Brett Favre doesn’t trust Brad Childress and thinks he has no idea about offense, claims a Yahoo report today. Brett Favre and Brad Childress would not comment on the Yahoo report that heated up NFL news Thursday, a report that claims a more than nominal disagreement between the two.

Yahoo claims that Brad Childress visited Favre on July 19, that Favre wanted to rejoin the Vikings before that date, and that after that meeting Favre was no longer interested. The report claims that it was Brad Childress, not his ankle injury, that was the cause Favre’s inability to make a decision to return or not.

So what’s the issue? “Brett just doesn’t trust him,” claims a Vikings player. “Brett thinks Childress has no clue about offense”. Brad allegedly tried to use team officials to inform the news that Steve Hutchinson, Jared Allen, and Ryan Longwell were not withBrett Favre this week at the very same moment that news coverage showed them flying back.

So why the conflict? The report claims that Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf’s absence from regular operations leaves Childress in command and with final say, a power that is allegedly conflicting with Brett Favre as of July and still now as we approach the regular season.

I don't know how I can distaste a guy more from one day to the next, but Favre manages to do that to me. Favre wanted to rejoin the Vikings before July 19, are you kidding me?

Sad news, Former Bear Johnny Bailey passed away from pancreatic cancer this morning at age 43. I was at the game when he was at Texas A&I and broke the career NCAA all purpose yardage record from Tony Dorsett I believe.

I'm not even sure I trust that report. Who is this Vikings source that says Favre thinks Childress is clueless? How would they know this? So he thinks he's clueless but then rejoins anyway?

Something ain't stirring the Kool-ade, Ace.

What does everyone think about Kevin Kolb?

I'm not going to let a preseason game determine what I think of him.

I do hope we pressure him consistently on opening day, though.

I just have no idea what to expect out of him. He is such a unknown IMO.

And agreed about putting pressure on him.

On any other team, he would be an afterthought. But with the Eagles, I think he has a chance to be really good. This is pretty much the perfect situation for a young inexperienced QB. Reid's offense allows the QB to throw the ball A TON. And on those ton of throws, Kolb will be throwing to DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Shady McCoy, and Brent Celek. And if getting the ball downfield fails, Kolb will rack up the yards dumping it off to talented receivers who are good after the catch (Jackson, McCoy, Celek were 10, 11, 13 in the NFC in YAC respectively last year). So, even if Reid has to make the offense more conservative, Kolb can still put up numbers.

I think like any inexperienced QB, Kolb will make some mistakes, but when he does, I think Reid will allow him to get his confidence back with "safe" throws. I think by the end of the year you are looking at a 3500 yard passer, 61-63% completion, 20-25 TD, 14-18 INT QB.

The Panthers have scored precisely zero touchdowns on offense (15 points total) in 2 games, albeit against the Ravens and Jets. Matt Moore has been mediocre, Jimmy Clausen has been mediocre. The only silver lining is that neither Jonathan Stewart or Steve Smith has been playing so we're not throwing out our A team.

rookie QB or mediocre QB in the preseason against 2 of the best defenses in the league without your best WR isn't going to lead to good results.

Al Michaels is interviewing Favre right now. Brett says what he misses most every offseason is the camaraderie with the other players. He loves the locker room stuff. He loves it so much that he has his own personal locker room apart from the other guys. He loves the camaraderie so much he misses out on the first three weeks of training camp when they get to spend the most amount of time together.

the preseason is so bizarre for me, because we spend so long with no football, that i hear chris collinsworth's voice and im like "YES CHRIS COLLINSWORTH, SWEET" even though i frigging hate him

False

I was going to say, I thought he only did that in New York.
