I love how the new ESPN angle is "Crazy old Brett Favre fooled us again. Guess he's not gonna retire afterall" when it should be "previously distinguised news organization jumps the gun and bases 20 hours of continuous coverage on a false report"

watch espn for live sports and don't ever watch it otherwise. i guess pti is okay... maybe.

I like PTI because it's the only time an ESPN personality expresses an opinion and it's not staged.

I agree, thank god for the NFL and MLB networks. You know its bad when Deion Sanders is better to listen to than anyone on Disney's channel.

I have no doubt that this was all just a ratings ploy done by ESPN and thought that from the beginning. Everyone who actually follows him and/or the Vikes know he is coming back as soon as they leave dorm life at training camp.

(Disclaimer: Huge Brett fan.)

Players (Peterson, Allen) have confirmed that they got texts from Brett telling them "this is it."

Link? Not being a smart a## but I looked and couldn't find anything like that.

Apparently Sen'Derrick Marks and Alterraun Verner are looking very good early in camp. It probably doesn't mean a thing, but it still makes me happy.

I liked Verner a lot going into the draft. Thought he would be a good Cover 2 fit for the Bears. Raisin will be happy to hear he is doing well.

I liked him in college and have gotten a bit infatuated after the Nick Harper comparisons.

Alterraun . . . Alderon.

Possible. Dagobah would be cooler, though.

"He told a couple guys on our team he's going to retire," Shiancoe said after practice. "He hasn't told me yet. I'm going to check my phone right now, but it hasn't been said publicly yet so I don't know what to believe."

I don't know about Peterson and Allen, but Shiancoe more or less confirmed that teammates were getting the text.

I'm pretty sure Wilson just made that up.

Well I saw where Allen was saying he wouldn't believe it till he saw it or something, so it seems unlikely he got the text.

Dumervil possibly out for the year just a short time after signing for massive dollars.

Ouch. I'm sprinkling imaginary anti-injury dust on Peppers as I type this.

Packers S Atari Bigby will have surgery on his ankle Friday.

Can't rely on this guy. He's good when he's not hurt, but the guy is made out of glass.

Yeah really frustrating. He is terrible against the pass but he is elite against the run. Looks like Morgan Burnett will get alot more time. Which I can't say is a bad thing, really like Burnett.

Keith Olbermann is reportedly stepping down from his role on NBC's "Football Night In America."

SportsbyBrooks reported Thursday that NBC News had requested that Olbermann leave the show, which usually precedes NBC's Sunday night football game, because they wanted him to focus on his duties hosting "Countdown." Olbermann has been on "Football Night" since 2007.

Sources told the blog that there had been no conflict between Olbermann and anybody who worked on the show. Nor, they said, had Olbermann's politics been a factor in the decision.
