I'm very underwhelmed until I see who the prospects are.

So you are saying you are currently underwhelmed based on the fact you have no idea who the Cubs are getting back in the trade?

Exactly. It is the post trade fear which is creeping up on me as well.

1:09pm: The Cubs will get DeWitt and another player, likely a minor leaguer according to CBS' Danny Knobler. The Cubs will pay "a significant amount of Lilly's salary."

If we're picking up most of Lilly's salary we BETTER be getting a top prospect

According to Rosenthal:

#Cubs would get DeWitt, Class AA pitcher and possibly third player for Lilly/Theriot package. Not sure of financial exchange. #Dodgers #MLB

Dodgers' AA roster

Aaron Miller, plz.

They might have soured on Winthrow with his struggles this year. And it seems like somebody the Cubs would go after with good stuff, high strikeouts, and high walk totals.

I am saying right now I am underwhelmed with the Cubs 2011 draft until I see what players they pick. Just to go on record.

I'm remembering last year when we were all scared Jay Jackson was getting dealt in the Grabow/Gorz deal and then saw we gave up nothing.......I'm hoping the situation isn't reversed here.

I am also underwhelmed by your next post before I see it but feel pretty safe I will be right about that.

I agree. If we get some decent prospects, Im OK with it, but if not, wed be better off with the comp picks.

As for DeWitt, was he ever a top prospect or just a guy who made it to the majors? I know he was a late 1st round pick in '04, 28th overall, but was he ever considered a top prospect who might thrive in a more hitter friendlt park? Otherwise, we should have just tried to make the Kelly Johnson deal happen and get prospects and cash for TLR.

Exactly what I said above. I am underwhelmed if Dewitt is the main guy we are getting back.

Forgive me for not living up to your high standards, Mr. Gammons. For the record, you don't really thrill me, either.

Anyway, I just can't shake this feeling that Hendry got bent over. Oh, how I want to be wrong.

Minor League Splits likes him when you neutralize for park and luck, plus his age relative to AA is pretty nice. I like him, but I prefer Miller.
