It seems like the Steelers are the one organization that probably shouldn't be accused of anything bordering on racist.

He's accusing the NFL, not the Steelers.

May want to re read what he said, he accused both

For the Steelers to send Holmes away for almost nothing but stand behind Roethlisberger looks like a major double standard and at least bordering being racist.

How'd I miss that? First line and all.

Anyway, it's a huge stretch in both instances.

No record: Before the past two sexual assault allegations, Roethlisberger had no history of misconduct, which is something Goodell must consider. Roethlisberger has not been charged with a crime, which could carry weight with the NFL. Without a criminal record, this might buy Roethlisberger at least one more pass without losing playing time.

1. He drove without a motorcycle helmet which is against the law (not that big of a deal to me though). 2. He drove without a motorcycle license (bigger deal than #1) 3. After the accident he said he wouldn't wear a helmet still which was a very stupid thing to say and he retracted it a week later after the NFL and Steelers talked to him.

Although all relatively minor all of those are misconduct by the NFL rules.

As for the Holmes comment and the Steelers I somehow had missed that he had a positive drug test. That changes things. However, Roethlisberger should still without question get a 1-4 game suspension (I would go 2).

You know, on the day that you give a press conference regarding charges not being filed against you for raping a woman in a dirty nightclub bathroom, you should probably not look exactly like the kind of person who would rape a woman in a dirty nightclub bathroom.

so you're saying even if he did absolutely nothing wrong (with respect to this thing in the night club) and this was all actually a misunderstanding or false allegations (I don't really know what happened), he should still get suspended 2 games and it's racist if he doesn't get some sort of suspension?

Yeah, that's like saying... We know OJ did it even though he was found not guilty, so we are going to have him serve 2 years for hits and giggles.

I thought it wasn't against the law in PA. I remember an interview he did before his crash and he said he would wear a helmet if it was the law, but it isn't and you're just more free without a helmet.

Read the NFL Conduct Policy. Whether fair or not they can and will suspend for reasons having a lot to do with morals. Getting drunk and hooking up with a drunk girl in the bathroom of a bar falls into that category. The NFL Conduct Policy states that NFL employees, of which players are included, are held to a higher standard than regular people and that they can be suspended even if no criminal activity occurred.

One time for a player in this type of situation can be forgiven and the player can learn a lesson without a suspension. A second time, especially in a short amount of time, means the player didn't learn his lesson last time so a suspension is needed because the player doesn't seem to get it when he is let off hook without one.

They can be suspended for things like if somebody in their posse kills a man, not if they hook up with a girl in a bar.

Well that hussy should be locked up then.

Dolphins are shopping Ted Ginn.

The Miami Dolphins have been pursuing options to trade wide receiver Ted Ginn, league sources said Tuesday.

Ginn's lack of productivity and relatively heavy rookie contract have turned off some teams, and two league executives said they don't anticipate the Dolphins receiving considerable value for the three-year pro in a trade.

I would like the Titans to look into Ginn as a kick returner.

well, hooking up with a girl at a bar and being in a motorcycle accident not wearing a helmet (which wasn't against the lay) seem like the kinds of fun/stupid things that a lot of nfl players do but that aren't evidence of moral bankruptcy.

I guess I'm just trying to understand the racist thing, but I think the answer is, it made no sense.

Given the story being discussed, I'm mildly amused at your typo.

Brandon Marshall likely traded to the Dolphins today for a 2nd and a 2nd in 2011.

Complete steal if they can keep his mouth shut.

I think you mean if they can keep his wife/gf"s mouth shut and not piss him off.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that the Steelers may be at their "tipping point" with Ben Roethlisberger.

A tipping point is defined as "the culmination of a buildup of small changes that effects a big change." A source tells Robinson that Steelers ownership is "shaken" by the onslaught of fan discontent with Big Ben. While we don't see a Roethlisberger trade as likely, it's well known that coach Mike Tomlin believes Dennis Dixon has a future as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The Steelers may listen to offers for Big Ben leading up to and during the draft.

I don't know if they will trade him, but if there is an organization that will trade him over fears of fan discontentment, it is the Steelers. I wonder what it would take to trade for him? I know the Rams have talked to the Steelers about a Big Ben trade, but who else would want a head case QB?
