I'm not sad for him. Getting drunk and going out on a balcony is asking for it. I'm sad for his family and friends and for the fact he was so young and thus likely would have learned later what to do and not do when drinking.

If I'm mad about something it's his parents and the parents that went on the trip. I would never allow my kid to go to Panama City Beach until they are out of my house and making their own decisions.

Such a tragedy.

Enough dude. Stop trolling. Making one joke is OK. Responding to every post made with a pointless post that adds nothing to the thread and solely posted to further annoy other posters is against the rules. For someone with so few posts you may want to watch it.

My thoughts exactly. It is unbelievable parents of high school kids, even seniors, would allow, and even promote (from the looks of it), a trip to a drunkfest; amongst other things.

His post count won't be going any higher.

Good. If he was actually adding stuff or opinions then I wouldn't have had a problem with it but his posts had nothing to them other than jabs at the rest of us.

More spring games that will be viewable, all for the Big Ten junkies.

Ohio State's will be aired April 24th at 2 pm on Big Ten Network.

Michigan's and Wisconsin's will both be at 1 pm on April 17th, streamed online by the Big Ten Network.

Illinois's and Michigan State's will follow that same script on April 24th.

Texas gets a commitment from OL Christian Westerman from Arizona. Huge get for them shoring up the OL.

Damn, he's probably the best OL in the west.

He might be the best OL in the country. Our line is set for the next 4 years.

Now about Malcolm Brown...

I'm pretty sure I read that there were 6 or so parents on the trip, which makes this story even more ridiculous.

And Josh Turner too, just so we can have the bst player from Oklahoma two years in a row.

I liked how he was very unimpressed by his visit to USC

NIU is playing Iowa at Soldier Field to open the 2012 season.

Unless I'm missing something, why would NIU do this so soon after their last game there against Iowa?

money

I never read anything about NIU actually turning a profit from the game in 2007, though that may have been the case.

I believe they're hosting Wisconsin there in 2011.

I'm not sure I'd have gone with the prison metaphor, but I've always felt that Illinois was the ideal opponent. They'll sell many more seats to Iowa fans in Evanston, Iowa (2010) and Michigan (2011) fans would dominate the crowd, and Rice (2011) is on Thanksgiving weekend. We probably wouldn't draw 35,000 for a game against Rice and it certainly wouldn't be on anything but the BTN.

Until the Iowa rumor came up, though, I hadn't realized that Notre Dame's game at Yankee Stadium is also on 11/20. Ideally the NU game would happen first, either at 11 or 2:30, and be televised on ESPN.

The other games that day are Penn State @ Indiana, Purdue @ Michigan State, Wisconsin @ Michigan, and Ohio State @ Iowa. I don't think they'd have a terrible time getting ESPN to commit to the game. Ohio State @ Iowa seems destined for 2:30 and ESPN2 can grab one of the other games.

Sorry to derail the thread, but anyway, what makes us Hog fans delusional is that we want to compete for more than a West title every few years and a Cotton Bowl. We want BCS bowls and chances to play for the NC. Nutt would never get us there, Petrino might.

That's just not gonna happen at mid-level SEC schools like Ole Miss or Ark. I think what Ole Miss has done the past two years (being ranked in top 15 and being about two wins away from being a BCS school) is about as close as it is gonna get for schools our size. We aren't LSU or BAMA and we never will be.

However, Arkansas probably should be better than they are though. Y'all have the entire state to recruit from basically. Mississippi has an insane amount of football talent but it is completely distributed between Ole Miss, Miss St, and our lovely neighbors right next door: LSU and BAMA. Throw in the fact that Southern Miss occasionally steals someone like DeAndre Brown, and it is really spread thin. So I guess at least the Mississippi schools have an excuse. There's no reason Arkansas shouldn't get the majority of your in state players.

And if Petrino is ever gonna do anything, he sure as hell should recruit better than he did this past year. 49th in recruiting?? At least Nutt had y'all in the top 25 just about every year.

There's nothing inherent at Ole Miss that would prevent the right coach from competing for an NC every now and then. It's not like LSU was a cadillac program before Saban got there (at least for a long time). Same with Florida and Spurrier.
