Kurt Warner, Hall of Famer?

Absolutely

He definitely is. He has been blessed with unbelievable talent around him, but two MVPs, a bunch of Super Bowl appearances, and he holds a number of the top passing records in the playoffs.

Regardless of the talent he makes the plays any chance he gets. His playoff efficiency is unreal.

To follow up on the Warner HOF thing...

Player Games Starts Comp Att Comp% Yards Y/A TD INT Sack Fum Rating
Warner 124 116 2,666 4,070 65.5 32,344 7.9 208 128 260 102 93.7
Brady 129 127 2,672 4,218 63.3 30,844 7.3 225 99 219 69 93.3

These are pretty close and I don't think anyone is questioning Brady being in the HOF if his career ended today. Warner is actually a slightly more effective passer but he's prone to making more negative plays. Another random thing I just noticed while compiling these, every time Warner has started all 16 games in a season his team has gone to the Super Bowl.

And you can't completely use the success argument with Brady too. True Brady has been to 4 Super Bowls and won 3, but Warner's 3 Super Bowls and 1 win isn't horrible either, especially when you consider that 2 of those Super Bowl appearances were on worst-to-first teams.

Two of my friends are going to the Colts game on Saturday.

Lucky bastards. I'd love to be there. Or the Vikings/Cowboys game. Or, really, any of the games. All four are going to be awesome. Unfortunately it looks like I'm gonna miss all of them.

you change your mind halfway through writing that? All your others have the winning team listed first.

I'm looking for a shootout in the Superdome tomorrow. I also think Sharper will get a pick six off of Warner. The Saints will win big 35-21.

I'm not sold on the Ravens. I think the Colts rout them as well. Give me the Colts 28, Ravens 13.

The Cowboys game is the toughest for me. My heart says Cowboys. When I look at it all, I just don't know. The Vikings are a very talented team and will probably give the Cowboys fits. The Dallas defense has played four of the top five scoring offenses this year and none of those scored more than 21 points. New Orleans (rank 1, 31.9ppg) was held to 17 pts, Green Bay (#3, 28.8ppg)-20 pts, Chargers (#4, 28.4ppg)- 20pts, and Philly (#5, 26.8ppg)- 0 and 14 pts respectively. In fact the only team to score more than 24 points on the Cowboys all year has been the Giants who did it both times in week 2 and 13. That leads me to believe the Cowboys can hold the Vikings to 24 or under. If they do, then can Romo and the Cowboys offense top that total. This one is going to be close, so in a close one, I'll go with my hear, Cowboys 24, Vikings 23.

In the last game, I'm taking the Chargers. The Jets have a great defense, but I think the Chargers are the best team in the league right now. They are my pick to make the Superbowl for the AFC. Give me Chargers 27-Jets 17.

Everyone forgets just how good a strong defensive team can be in the playoffs.

Ravens

Chargers

Cowboys

Saints

Should be a fun weekend of football. I'll be packed into my normal watering hole with a ridiculous amount of my Charger fan friends. I still don't own any Charger gear other than maybe a free key chain or a drink koozy.

Really? Because last I heard everybody and their mother insists defense wins championships and the way to win in the playoffs is defense and a running game. Yet the 2nd ranked defense got destroyed last week, the 4th ranked defense got embarrassed by a week offensive team, which has the 1st ranked defense and you also pick to lose.

over under on peyton's picks per game in this postseason? 2?

Manning has thrown 17 interceptions in 15 playoff games. Brett Favre 28 in 22 games. Kurt Warner 13 in 12 playoff games. Philip Rivers seven in seven games. Tom Brady 15 in 18 games. Joe Montana 21 in 23 games. Terry Bradshaw 26 in 19 games. And on and on.

But, hey, the media says Manning throws a bunch of picks in playoff games, so it must be true, right?

I went 1-3 last weekend (thank you Arizona).

DEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!!!

McAllister is back on the Saints. They say they want to use him as a fullback for the playoffs. I think this is mostly a PR gimmick, but who knows.
